A Brief History of Challenges

Originally started in the #Flashers chat room during 2006 these challenges, fuelled out of boredom, were entirely a spur of the moment occurrence. Over the years new challenge types have been created to provide a variety of creations.

The sole intension of the Challenges is to give Flash artists, animators and scriptors alike a reason to be creative, an excuse to break away from their busy schedules and bigger projects to just create something for the fun of it without boundaries or inspirational restrictions. And that's what *flashers is all about.
Recently *flashers has gone through a change of structure. Now functioning as a team effort it has pressed the reset button and are doing things the way they were intended.

Flashers Challenge 03

Being a Free-Form type of challenge the brief for this was simply to code a Flash work that centers on the theme Electricity.

Everyone had 1 week to complete this challenge and sadly we only had a few entries this time around but they're damn good none-the-less.
Once the time was up the entries were put to a public vote for 24hours (roughly) and that is how the winner has been decided.

Ive noticed a couple of people opting out of this one because their coding skill isnt quite as up to date as they may wish.

I just hope you arent backing out because you dont feel you could compete. Even though your code skills arent top shelf, thats no reason not to look at maybe trying something, if nothing else you can use this as a learning experience, to gain ideas and knowledge of how to code new things.

He's right! You shouldn't worry about the competing, it's all about having fun!
