Welcome to the first volume of this news.
We all know that horses are really present on devArt and that there are many very talented "horse artists" here. So many that featuring horse art randomly would be stupid.
Where Art Meets Horses will regularly features great horse art by breed, giving you wonderful pieces to fave and some infos about the featured breed.
If you have a request for a special breed, send me a note, I'll be happy to feature it.

The Breed : Irish Cob
Also known as : Gypsy Vanner, Tinker Horse, Gypsy Cob or Coloured Cob.
Origins : Obscure. Probably from Ireland and the UK.
Descended from : Plausibly from Shires, Clydesdales and Friesians.
Characteristics : They're draft horses. They measure from 14 to 17hh (147cm to 172cm). Usually pinto, though there is no color standard. They have a lot of hair and feather (long hairs on the legs).
Uses : They used to pull gypsies's caravans. Now they are excellent horses for carriage driving or for the family, because they are really friendly and close to humans.
