Zootoo.com is currently running a national contest for one of ten shelters to win a Million Dollar shelter makeover! The top ten shelters range all across America, and most are from small towns that really need this prize to keep their shelters going. Every animal shelter in this contest is deserving of the prize, and every one will recieve some cash for placing in the national top ten.

All you, my friends, need to do is visit this link, register with a photo (you can even upload photos of your pets) and vote 10 times a day now through next Sunday, April 19th for the shelter you think is most deserving.

All of these shelters help our voiceless friends in the animal world, rescuing abused and abandoned critters of all types from cruel and hostile environments. They also provide much needed spay and neutering for animals to help control the populations.



I'm coming before you, most humbly, to ask your help in getting my local area SPCA animal shelter into the top three of zootoo.com's Million Dollar Makeover. Last year the Jeffeson County New York SPCA won third place, and a small cash prize. This year, we've again made the top 10!

The Jefferson County SPCA is the only NO-KILL shelter in upstate NY. They take on all animals, even exotic ones like fish and reptiles and try their best to find them good and caring new homes. All the animals are spayed and neutered to help control the population, as well as vaccinated for various diseases.

Our shelter is close to the massive military installation of Fort Drum, NY, and takes on many animals that need to be given up during deployments. The shelter as it is now is very small and outdated and has a great need for a whole new building to give the very best of care to these animals.


Even if you don't vote for my hometown shelter, you'll still be helping spread awareness for animal welfare and animal rights and be involved in your community!
