Better Digital Photography Magazine-Free online

reports, 2h 9m agoFrom the Publishers of "What Digital Camera" and "Amateur Photographer", IPC Media today has announced a new online photography magazine, "Better Digital Photography" that people can read free and fully online, it is also interactive with embedding video tutorials from the magazine and mouse-over tips. Aimed at the entry and intermediate level photographer, it is heavily devoted to equipment and technique-focused photography content.
From the IPC Media website:
Publishing director Alex Robb says: “This is an exciting and innovative new venture for the photo portfolio. The editorial team have worked incredibly hard to create bespoke content, including technique videos and other interactive content. I am delighted that we have secured distribution to around two million photographers to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from the excellent tips and advice. Better Digital Photography is a further indication of how IPC continues to innovate in this competitive sector.”
Editor Mat Gallagher adds: “We wanted to create a product that helps the reader expand their knowledge, while being easy to use. It is thanks to the talents of art editor Steve Crabb that we have managed to produce such a visually stimulating and accessible magazine that surpasses anything else in the market place.”
My thoughts, this is downright awesome and VERY well done, it is like looking at an actual magazine, but the fact that it has videos embedded within for tips, tutorials, and techniques, make this even better! You can also subscribe for free, via email for upcoming issues, make personal notes within the magazine, and download a copy to your hard drive. GO GET IT!

reports, April 19Bellydancing or Rak Sharki to use the correct terminology has long been a passion of mine. I have been teaching it, in Australia, for 20 years. It is such a diverse dance in not only its many styles and genres but also in its people, music and traditions. Belly dancers come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and ages. They also wear many different styles of costuming from the popular two piece number to long flowing throbes. There are many myths and misconception around this art form. To name a few. We are strippers and dance topless (this is a popular one on deviant). NO! It is for labour NO! It is for goddess worship NO! We wear a jewel in our navel. NO! We aspire to be sex slaves lounging around in someone's harem. NO! We dance the dance of the seven veils. NO! We just wiggle. Ahhh!!! This one is the worst especially when you have devoted 20 years of your life, with daily practice and commitment so your can excel at what in essence is an extremely high art form. Sadly these misconceptions are continually reinforced to this day by popular media. Most of you would know Jasmine from the Simpson's. She spends her time dancing on tables at buck shows and moonlights as a stripper. I dream of genie is forever connected to bellydancing even though though I cannot think of one thing that would make it so. One of the more recurring myths is you need a lot of meat on your bones. This is not true, you do not have to be any particular shape. Bellydancers come ultra thin to very voluptuous. Each dancer tailors the dance to suit their body type, making her dance unique to her. Another myth is men don't bellydance. They most certainly do, and do it well! Bellydance comes from the Middle East and Far East were it it enjoyed by all, including men. Today, and in the past, there are wonderful male performers found throughout the globe. Take a look on youtube and you will find many. Bellydancers are everywhere, in every corner of the globe, including Deviantart. So I thought I would share my love with you. I hope you enjoy this collection.
