Welcome to this weeks volume of so we heard you liek emotes. This is the 29th volume in a weekly series aimed towards promoting emote and emoticonists from the dA community. It features emotes posted within the past week from both well known and new emoticonists, as well as featuring some other great emote projects and contests.
Featured Emoticons:
1.

I just cant stop looking at Cheerleader by `
CookiemagiK. The fluidity of the movement is outstanding and the expressions used are extremely well pixelled. The movements are well thought out and extremely cute, making this an emoticon I just cant take my eyes off.
2.

I couldnt resist featuring Make the World Spin by =
elicoronel16. The cute animation and amazing shading on the emote combine together to create a brilliant emoticon to celebrate Earth Day earlier this week. The idea is well displayed and the eye style really shows a lot of emoticon, making this a must see emote from this week.
3.

TardBee by =
LoneHana is another great emoticon posted this week. The bee is rather adorable and the animation has been nicely done. The expressions used work will with the animation and the emote loops well at a whole, giving it this weeks third featured spot.
4.

I couldnt help but giggle when I saw RickRoll by =
LeoLeonardo. The animation is very smooth and a movement works well with the purpose of the emote. The hair has been well pixelled and really enhances the emote as a whole. Its definitely worth having a closer look.
5.

This weeks final featured emote is Pregnancy by ~
Wooded-Wolf. Its a unique and brilliant display of a question many parents hope they never have to answer. Each part has been nicely pixelled and linked well together. The ending is a brilliant touch and adds an amusing element to this great emote.

Fonts
Sometimes you may need a font to use within your emoticons, and developing your own is not always easy. Some programs allow you to use normal fonts in a small size and produce clear results, however if doing this, you may need to ensure the anti-alias is turned off to produce pixelled lines.
Alternatively, there are a number of different fonts available on dA which are pixel based and small enough to use within avatars and emoticons. However please remember to credit the original artist if using someones pre-made font. Below are a number of examples I found and Im sure there are many others by searching words such as

ixel font

Mega Emotes
You have most likely seen the latest craze to hit the emote world
mega emotes. After I featured a few last week, I felt it might be nice to do a larger feature this week.
As a point of interest, these emotes are being allowed within the emote gallery. However please make sure they are in the correct category. The majority of the ones posted so far belong in
Customization > Icons > Emoticons > Packs and Larger Format as they are emotes of a larger size than the average. The exception to this is when it also contains emote of regular size, which allows these to be placed in the normal animated or static categories.
Im hoping at some point we might see a tutorial (or two) on how to create these emotes, but for now, Ill leave you with some of my personal favourites so far

So take a chance, take a chance now baby. 'Cause I've been feeling like you want me lately. Do a little bit of dancing maybe, with me. Or kiss me, Woah Woah...
