Original Character Design Contest:

The Original Character Design Contest is a contest for people who want to design new characters. Character design can be a great and fun process, because there are really no limits as to what the character has to look like. Original characters can be basic or over the top. It all depends on the creator.

To celebrate original characters, I am holding this contest for the Manga/Anime category. I have always enjoyed creating new characters, giving them personalities, and creating whole worlds for them.

This contest is for original characters only, to appreciate the time, effort, and creativity that goes into a person’s character. This contest is for the Manga/Anime gallery section of DeviantART is a salute to the artists and their characters. There will be four judges for this contest. After the allotted submission time period is over, the judges will review each of the entries and pick on their top three.

Rules:

The character must be new.
One character per deviation, this allows you to create up to three new characters. Remember, its about quality and thought rather than how many you create.
Deviations must be submitted between May 1st, 2009 and June 30th, 2009 at 11:59PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).
No fanart
Cannot be a character for an existing universe (such as Naruto or Bleach) Fan characters technically belong in the fanart category of dA.
Any media is acceptable
Maximum 3 entries per deviant.
Must comply with DeviantART’s ToS and Policies.
Deviation MUST be uploaded into the correct category. If the deviation is submitted in the incorrect category, I will contact you via note and ask it to be changed.

Entries:

Once you have completed your entry and submitted it to the Manga/Anime category, send *Nyiana-Sama a note with either a thumb or link to the deviation. If you wan to create more than one entry, you may wait to send all three in one note.

After I have received the entries, I will add them into a collection that will be featured on my page, showcasing all of the entries via Sitback.
