Hello, & welcome to another edition of Mini-DDs. Now, I'm running late here more than usual when it comes to putting these up (blame it on a combination of a stomache, an addiction to
Saints Row 2, & a recent discovery of several old gaming magazines for download that's kept me busy), so what say I try & make this intro as quick as possible?
First things first, the Mini-DDs 3rd Anniversary...May 8, just one week to go. So best to get moving on that already, right?
Well, after announcing for my idea for a contest last week, I put up
a little poll to help determine what the basic reaction to it is. Granted, the results haven't been entirely optimistic, but what the hell, I figure it still can't hurt.
So let's go with the contest. I'll officially announce it during the anniversary, but if any of you wanted to get started, I wouldn't object to that...
As for something else to celebrate the occasion? Well, I have been thinking...Maybe I should get the "regulars" around here involved a little bit...They have played a large part in helping make all of this a (semi-)success, maybe they have something to say...Or maybe I should just have a second contest. maybe all three! We'll just have to wait and see...
But enough of that for now. What say we get on with the main event already?
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:

...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a delicious milk chocolate center! And some strawberry cream & pretzel bits thrown into the mix this as well this week, just because I was inspired by an Asian candy!
Oh, & feel free to check out the Mini-DD Archive afterwards right here:
[link]Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...

The recent "Bring Your Vision To Life" contest here has spawned loads of amazing artwork showcasing battles of ethics, but if I had to put money on a big winner in the end,

frodo7605 would definitely be a major frontrunner. Cute, clever, funny, twisted, colorful, swimming with a lovely classic cartoon style, some cool little character designs, & a kind of spicy devilish feeling, all topped off with several sweet details right down to the eye-catching textures and patterns used...It's a quirky & superb battle between consciences that definitely deserves any prize it can get! Bravo!

Damn...If I were to see

frazbot painted on the side of a building, you can bet it'd leave me mesmerized for a good chunk of time. Actually, you can say the same about the version here as well...What with an extremely funky & attractive style, a unique, crisp, & eye-catching color scheme, some wickedly fun designs & details, & a nice little dosage of left-field surrealism. In the end, it's a deliciously kooky little graffiti masterpiecethat you definitely need to check out!

I'll say this about

burstchicken: Never before have I seen a demon-battling stuffed bear captured so awesomely. I'll also say that this is one stunning piece fo fan art that excels in every area, from the dynamic pose & feeling to the perfectly vivid & fiery colors & effects, the nice use of perspective, and of course, the absolutely eye-popping style. Overall, this is one killer tribute to a cute little ass-kicker that certainly deserves loads of praise!

D00pliss385 has said that
016. Questioning is probably her best work to date...And while that may be arguable, given the amount of greatness in her gallery, there's no denying that this Deviation is full of epic win. Even without the amazing story to set the stage, the unique character design, powerful imagery, slick style and sweet little details from every drop of rain to the stunning flare all make this one mind-blowing drawing that one would have to be foolish to pass up.

Monster Donut for a t-shirt design is a mystery to me. Bright, cheerful, clever, & extremely cartoonish & funny all over, this lovely & twisted little cutie is absolutely swimming with creativity & several sweet little touches from the skull & crossbones balloon to the tiny choppers circling overhead. Seriously, the man who can't appreciate the genius of a well-drawn giant cartoon donut smashing up a metropolis is just plain dead to me.

Definitely one of DA's most criminally overlooked anthro artists, ~
Shanella strikes again with
.:Running:., a truly fun & breezy little drawing showcasing some lovely character design, an excellent use of pastel-ish colors, a sweet pose and a great sense of motion, & several delectable details from the cute clothing to the slick speed lines, not to mention the clever use of blue lineart that works perfectly with the setting. All in all, one attractive & sweet piece of work guaranteed to capture your heart!

To sum things up quickly, practically everything in

Studiom6 clicks together to create one badass vector design. We're talking the killer tribal imagery nicely blended in with cool urban style, the sweet little designs for each face, the eye-catching sunburst background, every nice detail down to the smallest drip of paint...It all makes for one intense, stylish, & very clever Deviation that easily deserves a spot in your faves! Great job!

sychodelicotic'...It means a mixture of the psychedelic & the psychotic, & =
Masterthecreater has captured the essence of that term perfectly here, thanks to one twisted & cool character design, a perfectly wicked & fiery orange/black color scheme, several nice & trippy little details, & a gloriously macabre feeling of insanity flowing throughout everything from the expression to the background patterns! It's freakish, it's crazy, it's odd, & I love it!!

There's nothing quite like a clever, kickass monster design here at DA, &

melora delivers in spades in that area! The insane amount of detailed & chaotic action in contrast with the perfectly gloomy & empty space, the well-drawn mass of dark tentacles looking positively horrific (in a good way, of course), creating a scenario where you can practically hear them smashing that wood all part...It's an intense & awesome scene right out of a classic horror movie, & one that melora should definitely be proud of!
...Well, that's all for this week! If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., they'd be greatly appreciated! I hope you've all liked what I've featured this week, & I'll be back next week with nine more DD-worthy works of art! Sayanora until then! ^_^
