The Summer "Tell Me a Story" Contest

Think you can tell a good story? Can you craft a tale so riveting, you're reader can't put it down? Well, now's your time to prove it!

The contest will be judged on the first of August, so you will have the whole summer to write a story of any length from 100 words to novel length. The entries will be judged by my "staff" and I, and it will be judged on six categories.


Judging Categories

1. Creativity
2. Characterization
3. Verisimilitude/Suspension of Disbelief
4. Degree of Difficulty
5. Quality of execution
6. Story Telling Potential


Lengths

There will be winners for short, medium, and long lengths as well as a grand prize. And participants are allowed one entry in each category. Short would be any piece under 5,000 words. Medium is categorized as 5,001 to 25,000. And long is 25,001 plus.

Grand Prize:
:bulletblue: 1 year sub from me
:bulletblue: A journal feature from me
:bulletblue: A pick of 3 books from my personal library

Each sub category
:bulletblue: 6 month sub,
:bulletblue: journal feature,
:bulletblue: and one book, from me

Runners up will all get features from me.


Prize donations will be appreciated! All donors will get a journal feature by me!



Rules and Regulations

:bulletred: All entries must tell a story, ie they must include a distinctive plot and characters.
:bulletred: All entries must be the original work of the entrant. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
:bulletred: Entries must be unpublished. Individual cases may be waved for self publishing.
:bulletred: No pornography. No entries should be more than R rated. No X, people.
:bulletred: Deviations must be posted after the 3rd of May and before the 1st of August, US eastern time.
