The Magical Muse Literature Contest will kick off on May 15th and run through June 30th. This is a literature contest, based on...you guessed it...the irrascibale, elusive and haunting muse that all writers dance attendance on. Let your imagination soar with this one, please - poetry, visual poetry, fiction, non-fiction and all categories (see below) are open. Your piece can be romantic, realistic, philosophical, satirical, loving, biting - however you view your muse. Your piece could be a factual essay of the history of the muse, a real life description of your personal muse, a poem of love or frustration about your muse, a want ad for a new muse, an interview with a muse, what your muse does on vacation, the feeding and care of your muse, how to woo and keep a muse, why you love your muse...the proverbial sky (and your muse) are the limit. Please note, the entries do NOT have to incorporate magic...I just like the title!

There are four categories with one winner in each: Poetry, Visual Poetry, Prose and Alternative (Plays, dialogues, song lyrics and screen plays). Each Deviant may submit a total of two pieces in whatever categories he/she chooses. All work needs to be original and new, created for this contest. Please include the name of the contest (Magical Muse) and a link to this page in the comment section of your deviation. It would also be nice if you placed a stamp or the banner in your journal to help promote this contest. Please send your submissions to me by note with "Contest" in the subject line either the link or a thumbnail. Those donating prizes may enter the contest.

Special note about Visual Poetry: Entries must have all stock providers listed and a link to the actual picture used. Images found in a Google search are not allowed.





Prize packages: Please note that these are subject to change. I want to take this time to express my deep gratitude to all who so graciously are donating - you all are amazing! When I first joined here, I kept reading how DA people are fantastic - and it is true! I would love to offer 2nd place prizes in all categories, but did not want to impose on generosity. But if you would like to contribute to that, please let me know! I will be doing features and a little goody for all who donate.
