June 1st 2009 will begin the first annual 100 Songs Challenge!
Participants will have a list of 100 songs to listen to and make art inspired by them. All mediums are welcome, all people are welcome. There are no prizes involved, this is purely just to challenge yourself in time and creativity.
Q & A#1Q: So, what is the 100 Songs Challenge?
A: In the 100 Songs Challenge (similar to the 100 Themes Challenge) you have a list of 100 Songs that you create art inspired from listening to them. However, you get three months* to try and make one piece of art for each song on the "playlist".
Also, you are not limited to the official playlist, you can make one on your own with the music you want. You only have to follow one rule: It has to be 100 Songs!
(* = See Q&A #7)#2Q: What's on the Official Playlist?
A: All different kinds of music, all compiled from the suggestions of our participants. The official playlist always has only one song per artist.
(see current official playlist: [link] )#3Q: How do I participate?
A: Go to our dA [~
100-songs] and watch us, or go to our official website and become a member:
[link](*also see Rules And Requirements list below)#4Q: Do I have to share my works?
A: Only if you want to.
#5Q: How can I share my works?
A: If you have a dA account, you can submit the pieces and then place the links next the song you made it for in a journal. You can do something similar on your 100Songs profile, it just has to be in your "About Me" field when you edit your profile.
#6Q: Will you help promote the works I made for the challenge?
A: Yes! Gladly so, one of the things we do at the end of each challenge we will post a journal entry listing all of the participants and where to find the works they did.
Also, we can make collections in out favorites that have your username, and contained in them will be the pieces you did for this year's challenge. [will be cleared out at the start of next year's challenge and refreshed with new works] Let us know if you want us to do this, and be sure to send* us the link to the piece(s) you want faved.
(* = we ask that you send them to us as opposed to just watching your account due to not wanting a swamped inbox. Also, this is better because we'll know for sure that the ones you send us are the right pieces, thus saving time and confusion.)#7Q: What if I don't finish the whole list in time?
A: That's alright with us, we will still promote you and you are still considered a participant. This isn't a contest, and any leftover songs you can finish up later or not.
#8Q: When does the challenge start and when does it end?
A: The 100 Songs Challenge starts June 1st 2009 at 12:00 AM* and ends August 31st 2009 at 12:00 AM* (* = Eastern Standard time, GMT -05:00, United States)So, let's recap!
Rules and Requirements:
Membership through devWATCHING us or joining our site. (both are NOT mandatory)

Create a journal dedicated to updating your status on the challenge, OR place the list in your 'About Me' field on your 100Songs profile and update it there.
