Introducing my second featured artist: Micael Katzman a.k.a. rokama.
A talented Argentinian artist, and a good friend of mine, Micael specialises in Adobe Illustrator, creating magnificent pieces such as "Motike.Valen" which received a daily deviation at his deviantart account.

Micael has a very solid understanding of shapes, colour and composition, making him excellent in Illustrator, contributing towards his 400+ watchers.
First, can you tell us a little about yourself?I am a person interested in art in general, although I prefer the digital. All day I'm listening to music, I can not live without it.
What about University? Or are you currently employed?I'm studying at art school, then I'm going to get the title 'Graphic Designer', if all goes well.
So, Micael, is there a reason behind your alias rokama?Yes, when I was young, me and two friends made a 'group', and rokama is the two first letters of each last name. Rodrigo, Katzman, Maida; rokama.
What is the inspiration behind your artworks? The life. I am all day watching my surroundings and then try to express myself in any way. And always I listen to music.
How did you first become interested in illustration, and how did you get into it?Since I was young I was very interested in drawing, I drew all the time I could. Then while I was growing technology interested me, then discovered that the picture was mixed with the technology, called digital art. And I saw what I liked, after seeing a few different styles, it was the illustration and that's why I became more and more interested in that style.
Which artist's art inspires you?A lot of artists inspire me, either digital or traditional. In particular I like the traditional avant-garde artists like Picasso and Gaudí, whereas the digital artists I like the style of recycledwax or j3concepts. And musical artists inspire me, especially the pilot/experimental artists, such as Mr. Bungle or Menomena.
As most people should know, you are an artist for The Luminarium. How did you feel when you got accepted as an artist?I was very happy, I could not believe that I was accepted into this group, I was shocked, speechless.
I have already seen your recent work for the latest pack and I know everyone should be excited for that. What is your personal favourite piece that you have made and why? It's 'Traduction please' (
[link] ), because it's the first piece I did and I really liked it. And with that piece I entered my first artgroup, Magicka-studio.
What are your plans for the future, apart from becoming a graphic designer?I want to make lots of money is the only plan I have. And buy a Wacom tablet.
Haha! What are your top tips for budding illustrators out thereI recommend anyone who wants to express the way you want, as illustrator in this case, which looks much art, so you can know what you like and what does not. After practice I would say that as long as you can, do what you like for inspiration. And nothing more, nothing else.
Finally, what do you want to say to your fans before you go?Well... to my fans... mmm... thanks for all, especially to Alasdair to do that interview to me, and I don't know. Happy birthday!
Thank you for the interview, and to everyone out there, make sure to spread the word, and subscribe to comments or my RSS feed. Well for now, goodbye! [link]
