This is the fifth month in a series that features all of the Artisan Crafts Daily Deviations from the previous month. In addition to each Daily Deviation will be the DD description that went with it, which sub-gallery it is located in, and the name of the suggester. I hope you enjoy this series!

May 1 -- bugz by ~ZaLita (Culinary Arts)

What wonderfully pretty and delightful floral cupcakes and so perfect for May Day! You just have to see this in fullview to see the butterflies, toadstools, snails, flowers and grass. These cupcakes make you want to gaze at their fairytale charm for a long time and they look so delicious, too! Suggested by =elegaer, `feetpeet, and ^savagebinn.


May 2 -- A SERIES OF UNEXPECTED EVENTS by *Eclettica-TheAtelier (Jewelry)

A bracelet of three strands of pearls in three colors with dangles of 14K GF with white seed pearls and a faceted smokey quartz briolette. This artist uses 14K and 18K gold and a wealth of different gemstones in her designs and counts Courtney Love among her customers.


May 3 -- Prinny costume update DOOD by ~SomaKun (Costumes)

The suggester said, "Prinny dood! I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with this costume! ~SomaKun really nailed everything about the prinnies with this and even did the Laharl version. I'm a huge fan of the little wings that ~SomaKun added as well, they look perfect for a prinny. I would definitely love to wear this costume." Suggested by `Damaged927.


May 4 -- Stu the Koi by ~peapodlucy (Culinary Arts)

"I have watched this cake in the making, from concept through to finished piece, she is truly a legend and doesn't seem to realise how amazing she is. The use of obvious artistic ability just screams at you! The combination of subjects is done so superbly that they become a whole. The use of colour, the incredible modelling, the flawless finish! May 5 -- Alyce by ~reality-chaser (Plushies)

An enchanting sock creature with a wonderful combination of colors and a must-see in fullview.


May 6 -- Keid RE head cast in black by ~dollist (Custom Dolls)

The suggester wrote, "I believe that the quality of her work gets looked over because at a glance it's easy to assume they are factory-produced BJDs. But, her dolls are not 'dollfies' or modified factory-produced dolls, she actually sculpts her dolls from scratch and does her own castings entirely herself. I'm a doll artist as well, so I understand how much work goes into her dolls and the difficulties in the process, and how frustrating it is when you finish a piece so finely that people pass it up assuming it's a factory-produced work. May 8 -- Japanese wave glass pendant by ~inchworm (Jewelry)

"Anything Japanese has never ceased to amaze me, and here is a beautiful example of the awe it fills me with. The crisp blue waves and the glitter really add to the serene effect of this pendant-- a must have!" Suggested by =simonsaz3.

May 11 -- Cat Playing with Wool by ~blackcurrantjewelry (Jewelry)

The suggesters wrote, "It's so detailed and amazing I can't even begin to figure out how to do something similar even if I wanted to. Truly a work of art." And, "Her work is simply stunning... it's whimsical and magical with an elegant, organic, Art Nouveau feel to it. The rest of her gallery is definitely worth a peek as well!" May 12 -- Say Cheeeese by ~vickangaroo (Plushies)

The suggester said, "Strange and wonderful, with a heaping of cute for good measure. This is an impressive showcase of ~vickangaroo's twin-talents of plushie making and creature design. May 14 -- Quina Quen - FFIX by ~Pancake-mix (Costumes)

The suggester wrote, "Froggies beware! Quina Quen is one of the most difficult character designs in Final Fantasy to adapt to a costume, but ~Pancake-mix accomplished it to delicious perfection. Her clever methods for creating this--partially from her own pattern--are as adorable as the finished work." Suggested by ~BlackjackGabbiani.


May 15 -- Cast Copper Goblets by ~VandaLann (Metalwork)

A pair of small copper goblets that were both fabricated and cast by this metalsmith. Suggested by =Blue-Eyed-Snidget.


May 16 -- Order of the Dragonfly by *CosmicFolklore (Jewelry)

The large stone behind the dragonfly is a labradorite and the smaller one is a sugilite, set in 22K gold and with a Viking weave chain in sterling silver. The artist designed and made this necklace as a birthday gift for one of his young daughters.


May 17 -- Scrolled Pauldron by *Nezumi-chuu (Leatherwork)

The suggester wrote that "the composition of the entire piece is incredibly well done, especially since it was put together without any traditional leatherworking tools and the scrolling carved freehand with an awl in such a tiny scale." Suggested by *syrinxfox and `hellobaby.


May 18 -- Oxford postcard cushion by ~piatarunga (Plushies)

This is a cushion made to look like a postcard and the suggester said that "It is stunning and made with so much love to the detail. And not only that, it is awesomely accurately made, too." Suggested by ~Berryland.


May 19 -- Scyther by ~AgentDoppelnuller (Miscellaneous)

The suggester wrote that this work is "a unique medium for well-executed fan art!" And I agree that it certainly is! Suggested by *EnigmaticEmpress.


May 20 -- Unicorn Challenges Dragon by ~Aignatius (Fiber Art)

A vibrant batik on cotton, 83" by 68" (about 211cm by 173cm) of the "Unicorn Challenges the Dragon Under the Sun and Moon." The suggester wrote, "Such an incredible and detailed batik-piece with stunning and vibrant colours!" Suggested by *muura.


May 21 -- Godzilla head done by *missmonster (Sculpture & Glass)

"Glass sculpting is such a difficult art to master, but *missmonster has the discipline down to perfection... just check out this fascinating giant Godzilla piece! The colors, the shape details, the texture, everything looks so much like the one from the 1998 movie." Suggested by =simonsaz3


May 22 -- Fighting Bettas by *merimask (Leatherwork)

The suggester said that "The concept of this leather mask is very neat, but the execution just blows it away, especially with the fine, fluid lines and the little curls on the tail. May 25 -- Nid d'abeille And Bonbons by ~Sliceofcake (Culinary Arts)

A very impressive and exquisite cake and bonbons that were part of the artist's final exam at Le Cordon Bleu.


May 26 -- John Wayne Jack-O-Lantern by ~Revelation-Six (Pumpkin Carving)

An amazing carving of the American icon of masculinity on what would have been John Wayne's 102nd birthday today. A visit to this artist's gallery will reveal a large array of equally impressive pumpkin carvings. Suggested by ~Exillior.


May 27 -- Armour by ~LancierPilum (Metalwork)

Stainless steel armor with the less restrictive Barbute helmet that both protected the neck and gave more visibility. A visit to this artist's gallery will reward you with even more armor to browse!


May 28 -- -.-.-.-.- by ~Komachine (Clothing)

Entirely self-made from vinyl and faux skins. Overall the design is superb, the fit perfect, and the execution is professional and flawless. This artist's gallery has many other unique and equally impressive works.


May 29 -- USB Flash Memory by ~WSi (Miscellaneous)

A casing for a flash drive and made of buffalo horn and brass. The horn is cut in parts, milled, drilled, ground, glued and then ground again and polished.


May 30 -- Sigurd, Fantasy Viking Helm by *TomBanwell (Leatherworking)

The most complete description of this helmet is from the artist's own website: "The Sigurd helm is made of the finest materials. The horns, medallion and decorative buttons are all cold cast bronze. The medallion is framed by a piece of fox fur. The crown and strap peices are made of top grain vegetable tanned cowhide, all handstitched with waxed thread. The horn bases are encircled with a strip of leather edged with a four-part round leather braid. I have used traditional Viking motifs throughout this piece. The decorative buttons are shaped like traditional round Viking shields with the reinforcing ribs and center boss. The crown pieces are lightly engraved with a basketweave pattern. The horns are engraved with a runic dragon. The cold cast bronze medallion portrays Sigurd battling and killing the dragon Fafnir. Every part of the helm was designed and made by me."


May 31 -- Optimus prime by *Dans-Magic (Jewelry)

This artist and this deviation in particular was suggested by so many people, I lost count! Solid 14K gold ring of the new Optimus Prime with genuine rubies for eyes, 7/8" (22cm). For those who like sterling silver, *Dans-Magic also has this as a pendant in his gallery and that one has genuine sapphires for the eyes.
