Welcome to this week’s volume of so we heard you liek emotes. This is the 35th volume in a weekly series aimed towards promoting emote and emoticonists from the dA community. It features emotes posted within the past week from both well known and new emoticonists, as well as featuring some other great emote projects and contests.

Featured Emoticons:

The 3D effect in :beatingmyselfup: by =MenInASuitcase really impressed me. The height of the canvas ad use of shadow have been used extremely well and the flips and turns have been animated flawlessly.

I couldn’t resist giving a feature to Canon BOOM by =ManiacalMuffin. The canon is brilliantly pixelled and the emote is stunning to view. The animation is top notch and use of expressions couldn’t really have been done better.

3.
There are quite a few different glomp emotes around now a days, so its nice to find one such as :skittlesglomp: by ~5P-emotes that’s a little different from the norm. The glomp motion is nicely animated and the rainbow is a really great touch.

4.
The amount of detail in :YMCA: by =elicoronel16 is outstanding. Each character has been made extremely well, and the animation is extremely cute.

5.
Making Emotes by =Mr-Jaunty is a brilliant emoticon. The story flows well and it’s packed full of great little details

Legend update script

With the emoticon dictionary still a while off, `thespook has taken some time to help improve the emoticon legend. He has created a script for use with stylish to alter the way you see legend emoticons on dA. The script does not alter the actual emote posted, but will allow you to see a revamp in the place of the original. As the script can be altered to fit your preference, different people will see different emoticons posted, but it does provide a short term fix if there is a few legend emotes you dislike viewing.

So if is too big, stick in a smaller one. If annoys you, change it. It’s a cool little script and if your interested in giving it a go, you can grab a copy from this journal

Featured Projects

Let’s turn it up – version 2



Previously a static project, the lets turn it up project has been recreated to now accept both static and animated entries. The background is pixelled with great detail, and it certainly deserves some more entries

Emoticon Exhibition



The second project started this week is the emote exhibition. With a simple base its easy to enter and has a unique theme. Its currently looking a little bare, so I hope some of you will tae part.

Blank Stare Transformation Project

*Coconutflakes has also launched a new emoticon project this week. For this project you must make a based entry to be added to a canvas. The recent thrusting and woooo projects have done very well, so I look forward to seeing this one up and running. For more info, check out this page

Noticeboard

- @vastblue has launched a new contest this week. To enter you have to create an emote to fit the code :chairmosh:. With a sub and stressballs up for grabs, I certainly suggest you check it out. More info can be found here.

- The emoticon opus contest has now closed. The results should be announced soon.

- `CookiemagiK has set up an awesome emoticon puzzle game. It takes a bit of brain work to complete, but its great fun to try. To check it out, go to this page

- Project streamline is now onto its 3rd stage of development. To read up on the next section, take a look at this journal. Any feedback is really appreciated.
