Spreading the Words: Artwork Under 20 CommentsApologies for the huge delays on this. As I said in my journal, I was busy, and by the time I would get a couple hours to do this, all I wanted to do was sleep.
What is this about? We've all seen articles and journals featuring deviations without very many faves, but what about without comments? I'm sure I speak for most of us when I say every favourite and watch is appreciated, but comments are worth ten times more than any of that. I can't count the number of times I've seen artwork, even on the front page sometimes, with hundreds of favourites, but that have only 5 or 6 comments. I try my best to comment whenever I can, but I feel the best way I can help to spread the comments around is to feature those pieces that haven't received them. This daily article is to give recognition to those pieces that have fewer than 20 comments, regardless of their popularity.
How can you help? The best way you can help is by giving even one comment to one of the artists featured here. Or if you'd like to help me cut down on the time I spend looking for artwork and artists to feature, you can feel free to give suggestions for individual pieces to feature, artists for the featured artist of the day, or a theme for the next article. And yes, you can suggest yourself

Nothing wrong with a little self-promotion. Please send your suggestions in a note! I don't get notification when someone leaves a comment on the article.
And on that note, spreading the word would be nice. Go tell your watchers about this! I hope to use these features to encourage everyone to comment more often. Just think about how you feel whenever you get a nice comment or a helpful critique. Let's spread the words around!
It doesn't matter whether you're popular or unheard of, expert or beginner, talented or struggling, if you have pieces with fewer than 20 comments, you're eligible to be featured.
Past IssuesToday's ThemePolitical Art (digital)
Okay, I know I was going to do fanart today, but because of some organizational issues, it's going to wait until another time. If you've been reading this from the start, you'll know that I'm going through each category of deviantART one by one, and even though Digital > Drawings > Fanart was next, I realized that it would be better to do fanart when I get to the actual fanart gallery farther down the list. Anyway, that means political art is next, so enjoy!
Just a note before anyone gets up in arms about any of the artwork here: I tried to avoid featuring anything with blatantly racist/sexist/etc. views (I can't guarantee that some of these won't be offensive though. What doesn't look racist or offensive to me may very well look that way to someone else), but other than that, I'm featuring this work based on NUMBER OF COMMENTS, NOT on the message, opinion, or political view they are portraying, or even on the accuracy of the message. I encourage everyone here to look at them in the same way, and not to start flame wars, arguments, etc. because the artist is portraying a point of view you don't agree with, and not to start bashing the other side if you do agree with the artist, and to POLITELY point out any mistakes or inaccuracies that may be present. Let's stay civil, okay?

brightredrose has a wonderful gallery of equine fantasy pieces, usually a bit on the darker side, although other animals do show up now and then. Her anatomy isn't always spot on, but her natural talent is obvious, and some good critiques could go a long way.
