This is the long-awaited news version of my journal Gallery Descriptions: All Inclusive! I have rewritten my old version to include new galleries within the dA Related galleries solely to act as a resource and so I hope it can leave you feeling informed This news article will be kept updated to reflect any changes, too.

This category holds no deviations of its own as it has multiple subcategories. They are for submissions that are deviantART related, including deviant IDs, dA tutorials, dA skins & CSS, deviations about deviantART people, and more; for which there is information below.

dA related > deviantART Skins

Please welcome the new skins category. The things in this gallery are skins that are scripted for listed parts of deviantART (ie, not the same as "Stylish Skins"). At the moment it has just one subcategory - journal.

dA related > deviantART Skins > Journal

This subcategory should only contain fully working CSS templates for deviantART journals that are free for public use on deviantART. The difference between this category and the current Journal CSS category is that the designs within this skins category are installable via the new 'Saved Skins' CSS system.
Note: Only subscribed members, seniors and staff have the ability to use CSS in their journals.

deviantART Related > Journal CSS

In the subcategories leading on from this one, you will find fully functional CSS for journals, journal designs that have no CSS attached, and CSS design stock aka journal graphics.

dA related > Journal CSS > Complete Journal CSS

This subcategory should only contain fully working CSS templates for deviantART journals that are free for public use on deviantART. If the deviation does not have any CSS with it, downloadable or otherwise, or is not intended for free public use, it belongs in the Journal Designs category instead.
Note: Only subscribed members, seniors and staff have the ability to use CSS in their journals.

This subcategory is for designs only; layouts, non-functioning templates, whatever you want to call them, they’re just designs for deviantART journals that contain no CSS and are not free for public use.

dA related > Journal CSS > Journal Graphics

This subcategory is for graphics such as header images, backgrounds, section dividers, etc, that are intended for free use in deviantART journals - like stock for CSS. The most common misconception of this gallery is that it is a place to store one’s own journal graphics when actually this is not what it’s for and such images belong somewhere like Photobucket or ImageShack.

Note: This category was formally called "deviantART.com skins" and then was named "Stylish Skins"
This category is for fully functioning scripts that can be installed, most often via Stylish, to modify the appearance of the deviantART.com website, such as changing the colour scheme of dA. It is not to be confused with ‘browser scripts & extensions’ which modify the functions of deviantART.

dA related > Browser Scripts and Extensions

This category is for fully functioning downloadable scripts, which can usually be installed via Greasemonkey or through an internet browser such as Firefox or Netscape, that will extend and/or modify the functions and features of deviantART or enable a web browser to do something that is dA related, for example `bluespeed9's deviantMESSAGE, which lets a person know they have new messages in their dA inbox (currently unavailable).

dA related > deviantART Suggestions

This category is for serious suggestions that you think will somehow improve deviantART.com as a site or community, or can add-to/revise/improve the various functionalities it provides. This is where you can submit as deviations the ideas that you would start a thread for in the Suggestions Forum, and roughly the same rules apply to these galleries as the forums, so you may wish to check the Common Suggestions Thread for ideas that will not be put in place before making your deviation!

dA related > deviantART Suggestions > Visual Suggestions

This subcategory is for suggestions that are shown in a visual way through the medium of drawings or mock-ups, for example.

dA related > deviantART Suggestions > Written Suggestions

This subcategory is for suggestions that are shown in a literary way though the medium of written text, to be uploaded and displayed as such.

dA related > dA Tutorials

This category is for tutorials and guides on how to use the deviantART website (navigation, FAQs, features, etc) and is not for artistic tutorials such as drawing or painting which belong in Resources > Tutorials.

dA related > deviantID

This category is for images that can be displayed on a deviant’s profile page used to identify the deviant. This can be a simple photo of the deviant or a drawing they have done or something that says a little about them such as their name, age, likes and dislikes.

dA related > Deviant Meet Photos

This category should contain photographs of deviants from official/organised devMEETS only. Random photos of a group of friends who all happen to be members of deviantART do not belong here, they belong in either Photography or Devious Fun.

dA related > Devious Fun

This category is for fun relating to deviantART - this may seem its stating the obvious, but it's almost unbelievable what gets uploaded to this category. There appears to be some sort of misconception that this is a second Scraps gallery and that practically everything is acceptable; however this is not the case. Photographs of deviants that are not from devMEETS, artwork of or relating to Fella the deviantART mascot, screenshots displaying something deviantART related (such as pageview 'kiribans'; or amusing bugs and error messages on deviantART), artwork depicting another deviant or staff member (such as a drawing of $spyed as a ninja), artwork to advertise a deviantART sponsored contest, devMEET or other dA related event - all of these are ok. If it's not on the list, it's likely that it is better suited to a different category or belongs in Scraps. If in doubt, ask someone and get a second opinion.

dA related > Devious Stamps

This category is for stamps or banners (stickers, stamps without 'teeth') that are free for public use on deviantART journals and shoutboards. Stamps generally show support for something or someone or express an opinion of some sort, though other types do exist. At the moment there's no size or shape limit for stamps, but in the future there will be a maximum size restraint of 150 x 150 pixels as that is the maximum size at which a thumbnail displays.

dA related > Zines

This category is for magazines. This does not mean scans of magazines bought at the shop, this means magazines made by deviants or clubs on deviantART. Most often they consist of a front page and then a downloadable .PDF file containing the rest of the contents, whatever they may be; featured artists, current events, photojournalism and literature are just a few examples of what a zine could contain. This category is not to be confused with Design & Interfaces > Editorial Design which can contain front cover designs only and do not have a readable magazine attached.

dA related > deviantART Birthday

This category is for deviations dedicated to deviantART's birthday only, not for pictures dedicated to a friend or anybody else on their birthday. dA celebrates its birthday August 7th.

dA related > deviantART Birthday > 8th

This subcategory is for submissions dedicated to deviantART's 8th birthday, August 7th 2008

This subcategory is for submissions relating to deviantART birthdays 1 through 6 (2001 – 2006)

dA related > deviantWEAR

This category is for deviations relating to deviantWEAR, the clothing and accessories that are available for purchase in the deviantART shop.

dA related > deviantWEAR > Action Shots

This category is for portraits of deviants and others sporting deviantWEAR items (such as wearing a cap or t-shirt) or photographs of deviantWEAR products in use (such as someone cuddling a Fella plushie)

dA related > deviantWEAR > Submissions

This subcategory is for submissions such as t-shirt designs that are to be seriously considered for deviantWEAR, which can be purchased in the deviantART shop. Not to be confused with Design & Interface > Fashion Design.
Note: Generally speaking, only designs made by the Creative Team are considered unless a contest is going on.

dA related > LOLFella

This category is for subtitled/captioned photographs of the Fella Plushie. Have you heard of LOLCats? This is the same thing, but with Fella instead of kitties!

dA related > Prints

This category is for photos of products purchased from deviantART's shop only, not any other prints or products from elsewhere.

dA related > Prints > Product Shots

This subcategory is for photographs of prints and product purchases from the deviantART shop only; this includes photo prints, canvas prints, fine art prints, mugs, calendars, coasters, magnets, postcards, puzzles, mouse mats and greeting cards.
