Why is a picture worth a thousand words? Why are colors and canvas more powerful than letters and ink? Why is writing art's plainer sister?

It isn't. Writing is an art. Writing is about passion, about imagination, about life. And we've proved it.

For this project, over fifty writers from dA's literature community have written unique pieces, ranging from essays to visual poetry to stories personifying Art and Literature. We expected thirty entries and received fifty-two——and you can't ignore that many writers or that much writing. deviantART, I present to you the combined work of fifty-three artists who have said in their own words: Writing is not art's plainer sister.
