Prosers: July is Flash Fiction Month!

*Flash-Fic-Month:iconFlash-Fic-Month: reports, June 18
The much-anticipated first annual Flash Fiction Month is approaching (only TEN days to go, woo hoo!), so the FFM Team is bustling madly, getting everything ready for the big event.

 What's Flash Fiction Month all about?

Flash Fiction Month is a month-long event run throug July 1 to July 31, and is based on the very popular NaPo- and NaNoWriMo ideas.

Basically, the challenge is to write one piece of flash fiction per day, for the 31 days of July. So, that's 31 flashs in total for the month. Easy-peasy!

 But... what IS Flash Fiction, you ask?

"Flash Fiction" is a term used for very short prose pieces, usually around 1000 words or under.

The word limits for Flash Fiction Month will be 55 to 1000 words per story.

This first event is very special, as nobody else in the world is running a monthly event just for Flash Fiction. We are hoping that, if the response on dA this year is good, we can make it a global event next year!

This year, FFM (Flash-Fic-Month) is focussed entirely on dA, however, and we need your support!

You can help out by:

:bulletred: :bulletyellow: joining in!!! The more writers, the merrier! Sign up for the month here.

Too, you might like to join our chatroom: #FlashFictionMonth, and ask staff to promote you to Writers.

:bulletred: :bulletyellow: joining our PR Team. This involves helping to spread the word about Flash Fiction Month, as well as cheering writers on by commenting on deviations.

:bulletred: :bulletyellow: sending no more than FIVE prose-prompts to our prompt-mistress `smoking-mirrors by note. Prompts should leave room for interpretation, and be --interesting-- ie, not simply a single word.

:bulletred: :bulletyellow: volunteering as staff at #FlashFictionMonth-- we need people willing to help supply writers with prompts, run group writing sessions and greet new members.

If you'd like to help out in any way, please note us at ~Flash-Fic-Month.

News articles with tips on writing Flash Fiction, more event info & news and more, are coming soon! Help us out by giving them a .
