The "Show Them You Love Them contest" is to benefit and raise awareness for the abused and unwanted animals you find in shelters worldwide. We are trying to help show the DA community the love that we pet owners have for our animals, and the pain and desolation of those lonely few who roam the streets without love and affection. This contest is open to everyone, whether you have an animal or not, and has two divisions: Amateur and Professional. Though it is photography (petography to be more specific) only! The Grand Prize is a 3 year subscription, monetary donations to humane societies within North America, a free print, 3 news articles and nearly 40 journal features!

This contest has received a fantastic amount of acclaim and has been sponsored by multiple clubs within the DA community! Please love this article if you support this contest and help spread the word by advertising in your journal! Even if you only get 3 or 4 page views per day, it can still make a difference in this contest!

Eye contest update

The ~staring-at-you-club is having a contest for our club I.D. The contest end on January 5 2010. We have a small number of entries, so the competition is not all that tough.
Here are the rules and guide lines:
1.The pic must pertain to eye(given since that is what the club is about)

The AllArts Good Vs. Evil Contest Extended!

We extended our contest with 3 extra weeks! The rules are pretty much the same, but now non-members can also join our contest! So, if you like the theme, participate! But don't forget to follow our rules, or else we'll be forced to reject your entry :giggle:

There will be 2 categories: Manipulation and Imagination. The info about each category is posted bellow. :D
For both categories: you will have to chose between good or evil and state (in the the description box of your entry) the reason for choosing one instead of the other, AND a few lines about your entry, about what it means etc (more than 3 sentences!).

:bulletblack: The Manipulation Category :bulletblack:

Here we will accept digital art, traditional art, mixed media or visual poetry.
The participant will have to use one of the following images:

You can also use both, but you still have to post the reason in your description.

:bulletblack: The Imagination Category :bulletblack:

Here we will accept photography or literature.
If you enter with a literature piece, it must be in ENGLISH.
You can photograph or write about anything, as long as it illustrates good, evil or both. Again, don’t forget about the reason.

:pointr: Only 1 entry per user! BUT you can change your entry if you make a new and better one, before the closing date. If you decide to do so, please read the rules about sending the entry, bellow.

:pointr: Your entry must be new, made especially for this contest, and must be uploaded to dA after the 1st of June!
:pointr: Anyone can enter, so feel free to participate! :giggle:
:pointr: You will have to post all of the credits in the description box of your entry! This means not just the link to the stock-provider’s profile, but the link to the direct used resource.
:pointr: Each entry must have the reason and the details about it in the description box, or else it will be rejected.

Can I draw something for this contest if I use the photographs as reference without putting the photo in the work?

Also, I'm unclear on this so I'll ask, but can I use both good and evil in the work? I see in the rules it says choose one, but it also says I can use both photos.
