I have finally dragged myself away from the television after seeing and hearing something I could never have been prepared for. Michael Jackson, my idol and my inspiration has "died".

I find it hard to say that he has "died" because I don't want to acknowledge it but more so because it sounds so final. I am by no means a religious person, maybe even anti-religious, but I felt a loss today that I could only describe that I felt to my soul.

Never before has 1 man reached so many with his music. He conquered racial barriers that politicians and activists have been trying to do for years. He set the standard for music and raised the bar to a level that ALL artists could only dream of achieving. He transformed dance and transcended above just being another dancer and choregrapher and became dance itself.

The most famous man on the planet has not died. He has left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten, music that will never age, videos that will never grow tiresome, dance moves people will still try to copy and an inspiration that will continue to bring new artists to the stage. The genius that was Michael Jackson will never die.

I may never see the likes of another Michael Jackson in my lifetime but I am honoured to be able to say that I witnessed the best there was, the best there is and the best there will ever be.
