Infantile Spasams.

Its surprising how non-threatening the disease sounds when you know nothing about it. What is Infantile Spasams, anyway? To be honest, I don't entirely know. I know that its a condition that causes kids to have seizures. I know that there are different kind of seizures, and different kinds of medication, and different kinds of treatments. I know all the basic facts.

- I know it affects about one kid out of every 3500.
- I know it usually presents itself around five months of age.
- I know that it can cause cluster seizures, which can be up to 100 seizures at a single time.
- I know that it hinders childhood development.
- I know that it affects Marissa, as well as the people in Marissa's life.

Meet Marissa.
