Why is there so much pressure on being NOT slim?
you are a stick.
you need to eat.
why are you so skinny.
god you are too skinny.
just look how skinny she is.
stop sticking fingers down your throat.
you know there are doctors that can help.
Help! What's wrong with being skinny?

don't care.Fuck.
If you can't see my ribs.
My bones are not protruding.
My skin is not stretched unnaturally over bone.
I don't look gaunt and sick.
Then
don't discriminate.

We've all heard about magazines, TV, runway and other getting in trouble for having "skinny" models. And yeah, a lot of those models are too thin for their body type.
Media-bashing, and a whole new culture on the 'right size' has taken over. If you have a size less than an 10 (Aust Womens), then you are immediately too skinny, and will probably have mums pointing you out in the supermarket to their kids, with their lips moving "She's too skinny", or even (worse) having the kids of 5 or 6 coming up to you and actually
telling you to fatten up.
Many artists on dA have to be wary on how they draw, photoshop or even shoot their people, for the fear that it will be 'too small' and 'you're giving my kids the wrong idea'. Even the world of caricatures are under threat. If you can draw a merry rotund man, why can't you draw a slim girl?
You have to be very brave to post a slender girl.
I think these are both beautiful. Unique. So why is *
mimi-na's Retro Ariel the only one getting the rabbit's teeth (pg 2 of comments for first rant)?

Yet look at these v v. I'm not saying they don't give a good message on big=beautiful, but do you really have to make anyone else feel insecure?

I agree that this person is too skinny and is giving the wrong message.

There are probably even more examples on dA, in fact, all over the web.
Take a step back. What is the right idea? I'm talking about what's right for your body type. Whether that be slim or curvy, an hourglass, a straight-up-and-down.
Lets take a look at at our culture's current views.
Hips, curves, busty = beautiful
Svelte, lean, angles = anorexic
Why? Don't get me wrong. I, as much as the next person, think curves are beautiful. But why bash the slender?
I agree with the message of people that are too skinny. As in, their bones stick out, their faces are hollow and you can see their ribs. That means they are not the right weight for their body. Being too skinny is not pretty. Having an eating disorder is seriously not cool.
You don't have to bash this; hear me out, from the horse's mouth. I'm mainly just talking about the inconsistency. There are a million+ results on Google explaining why its okay to be big; yet searching "there's nothing wrong with being skinny" comes up with
1st result) There is nothing wrong with being overweight
and only a few obscure references on pg 18 of results on a pretty-slender. Yet even these pages were pretty much filled with rants on big is beautiful, skinny is anorexic.
I wish I had curves. I wish I had the perfect body of hips and soft knees. I wish my metabolism wasn't so high. I wish that I could put on weight by eating a couple of chocolate bars. I wish that I didn't loose 2 kilos when I pulled in that all-nighter. I can't see my ribs, I have knobbly knees-- so clearly, I am too skinny.
But I am stuck with my body until the day I die. This is the body I was given. Accept it. I hope that's not wrong.
Thankfully, there are some people on dA who give a fairly well-rounded and informed opinion on body-size, or even give us their own twist on what I'm telling you. I love these people so much. They make me feel... good about myself. To know I am not the only one who has trouble filling out skinny jeans. Who envies curves. Who gets put down for their weight.
Thank you

It's true, I get out through this ALL the time. Why is it that people feel the need to make a comment about weight at least once during the time they know you?

"Ohh! Look at how skinny she is! She needs some meat on her bones." and "Wow, what a fatso! Ever heard of a diet?"
People just can't accept other people for who they are these days. If we all could just love and not judge, the world would be such a much more awesome place.
Thank you for posting this and being amazing, love.

Like you said in the poetry, She hates the fact that people come up to her and call her bulimic, when that last time she threw up was when she got food poisoning.
My sister and I are very close, so what bothers her usually bothers me, and this stuff pisses me off.
