On June 18th, I wrote an article entitled “[The] Equine Artist and Stock Provider barrier” which addressed tensions between landscape stock providers and equine manipulators. The article can be found here: [link]

In the article, I made a suggestion:
3. Agree to help one another out. Start up education clubs for younger manipulators, I am sure they would love to have time with the more experienced and more popular artists.

With that single suggestion, I made a promise. I made a promise which I have kept.

I would now like to introduce you to a new club….

Essential Equine is a club for Equine Manipulators of all skills, backgrounds, and ages. At Essential Equine, we provide links to tutorials, advice, critiques, features, and support for all equine manipulators. We accept members, teachers, students, fans, and affiliates. Currently, we do not have a forum but the club administrator (yours truly) is working on getting one set up.

The Clubs Goals::
Educate younger manipulators, teaching them how to credit stock providers, look for stock, and more

Be a safe haven for equine manipulators of all skill levels. This is not a club to judge one another but rather help one another.

Promote the Equine Manipulator community. We’ve had a bad rap over the years, it’s time for a change.

Bolster the Equine Manipulator community / genre as a whole.
--How many times have you seen a popular artist featured? It is time to change that. Each member will receive a feature for some time. A new wave of manipulators is coming in, it’s time to support them too!

However, a club is nothing without members, dedicated staff, and a driving force behind it. As a community, we need to band together to help one another, whether that is by giving a constructive critique or leaving a positive comment. Our differences need to be put aside. We can have personal qualms on our personal accounts, but for Essential Equine, it’s all about positivity.


Eh, its not for me…
Okay, but do not complain when you see a journal or comment from another deviant attacking the horse manipulation genre. Then again, considering DA in a whole is a community, why would you join a website to stay in your own space anyway?

Joining
To join Essential Equine, follow these quick and easy steps:
Send a note to the club
Title the note "Join" otherwise it may be overlooked.
Tell us if you would like to be a member a fan or a part of the team!
Watch the club. --Keep up with exclusive news, contests, and additions to the tutorial sections.

Joining as a TEACHER
Do the same as above AND ALSO the following
Mention in the note you would like to be a teacher
Post A journal entry with the Following:
>> Basic rules to your classroom
>> An introduction or a list to what programs you can teach and what "levels" or what effects you can teach (cutting smudging etc)
>> A list of your students.
>> How you will do your lessons. (do you want them to email you, aim, msn? or will you post tutorials and the students post their finished work as a comment)

If you would like, make a form for your students to fill out. (How many years experience, some examples of their images, etc)

What if I want to be a student?
Just send a note telling us you would like to join as a student. As the club grows, we will send updates to our watchers may it be via journal or note.
