''As this year comes to a close, we can look back and see that 2009 was a big year for typography. We saw more web designs with a focus on type, and there were some pretty amazing fonts released. Here are some of the best free fonts from this past year. A few of the fonts below were released at the end of 2008, but since they didnt see much action until this year, I included them in the list.''

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.

Thank you to everyone who sent in a DD suggestion last month - please keep sending them in! As you can see last month there were many awesome DDs that wouldn't have been featured without the your input.
I consider every one I get very carefully, and I look through the rest of the artist's gallery too. It's easy to send one, you can either note me or use `Solitude12's nifty script:
You can suggest anything to me, as long as: The deviation is a digital 3D image, in the Digital > 3D Gallery The artist hasn't received one in the last 3 months You may suggest yourself.
Please send me (^joannastar) a note titled "DD Suggestion", and put your suggestion in as a thumb (copy the :thumb123456: code from the side of the artist's description).
It's not compulsory, but I'd really appreciate an explanation of why you think the piece is DD worthy. Don't worry if you are not confident with your English - it's fine. The important thing is to suggest the best of what you see!
Note that not all suggestions are chosen, and there may be a big delay between a suggestion and the artwork being featured
DeviantART and the martial arts action film, Ninja Assassin, have teamed up to allow ALL deviants the ability to install Journal Skins! Select an awesome Ninja Assassin skin or choose the skin of your choice.
Darksiders: Your Last Days Contest - Create a piece of artwork in any visual medium depicting a creative and personal interpretation of the last days of Earth during an ‘apocalypse’ and earn a chance to win amazing prizes!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Deviousness Award is an accolade which is traditionally handed out on the 1st of every month to one trully outstanding deviant. `Cyantre is one of the most helpful deviants within our community. With a positive attitude and a resourceful mind, you can always find him providing support and encouragement to those in need. Always looking for ways in which he can get more involved in our community, John's positive presence is to be aspired to. A well respected poet, John is a must-have on your deviantWATCH to make sure that you don't miss out on your dose of community inspiration. It's with great pleasure that the Deviousness Award for November 2009 goes to... Read More
