Design Something Every Day

reports, 2d 7h agoSomeone once said, "Practice makes perfect". While that statement might not be completely true, I do believe that practice makes you better. That is why in this blog post, I would like to propose something to every designer: Why not try to design something every day for one year?
Actors rehearse their lines until they learn them perfectly. Musicians practice their songs until every note is just right. Athletes practice their particular sport so they can excel. As designers, why can’t we do the same? Ask any successful designer in the community about how they have succeeded and they will attribute much of their success to practice. I challenge you today to design something daily. Take fifteen to twenty minutes that you would normally use to surf the Web today and devote it to designing something.
Most of you are probably thinking that I am out of my mind for proposing this. How can you, as a designer working either for a company or for yourself, find the time to design something daily? reports, July 8hi! a friendly artist welcoming all artists interested in designing characters. This really isn't a true contest, but all of the work will be featured for everyone who is interested. I plan to do a news article featuring all of the artists who enter a work or more. Your work will be known by a few more people which could help you earn some more things. There will be several different categories presented that pretty much include everyone! This contest will feature traditional art, digital art, and game arts. If you have artisan things such as dolls or sculptures of your OC's, they will also be welcome!
There are some requirements, and I will briefly introduce them.
Your characters must be original caracters, or OC's for short. This does not mean that they are not allowed to be influenced by other artists, authors, movies, etc. If you have stories that go with your original characters, feel free to share them too!

1. that you have an oc, or original character doing whatever he or she does best. You can have more than one OC in the picture, and literature is just as welcome as other art.
2. If your character is based on another artists style or perhaps you added a character to a story, you need to note that. For instance, if you are a fan of Final Fantasy, and you create a character for that series, you will need to note that. If you just use another artist as inspiration, not their plot, then you don't have to note that, but if you want that could be nice to help others see where you are coming from.
3. If you want critiques on the work, just ask, even if you aren't subscribed, artists can still give you advice.
4. The character you draw will be featured, and a new 'contest' will begin October 5, if you miss this one.
5. only submit one piece of work for this contest, because that can help inspire you. The first one you submit will be the one featured.
6. The most important thing about this is that you have fun and learn from other artists. Maybe you'll find a style of art you haven't tried, or find one you aren't quite sure how to perfect, and by entering this you might find someone who could help!
7. Feel free to invite as many people as you want, and they can enter from any field on the dA selection. Everyone will be featured in a journal and news article!
