Dear friends,
In the animated atmosphere of gradually growing Vietnamese comics in the year 2009, I feel so surprised and hopeful about our comics in the future. The reason is that many young artists appear and show off their talents - That is everyone's long-awaited pride. Along with GreenFarm, Manzin and the forthcoming Truyện Tranh Việt Online, Vietnamese comics is believed to be better and move to a higher phase.

Therefore, in order to warm up the air as well as to creat an interesting and realistic activity for all young artists, basing on the idea of Kaboom Ink on DeviantART, =Clap-san and I really hope to lauch a campaign:

Trans-Vietnam Artbook

I wish and believe that this artbook will be supported by all of you. Let’s show to the international friends the joy and unity of our Vietnamese-comics community! ^_^

I. Name for the artbook?
The general name for our project is “Trans-Vietnam Artbook”. Depending on the development of that and the time needed for finishing all the artworks, this project will be re-started after 1-2 years.
Each time of project will give you a theme to follow. Each artbook will be named based on that theme. The artbook’s cover will be drawn by ~alex-tuan, =Clap-san, *Dark134 or ~phongduong.

II. Participants:
All artists coming from Vietnam, owning Vietnamese nationality, and now living in Vietnam (or currently being on holiday in Vietnam); regardless of age, gender or anything else. We're so sorry all the Vietnamese artists studying or living abroad, we have no ability to send this artbook to you this year.


III. Joining forms and rules

Follow the theme of artbok. I will inform you of the theme for each time of project. You should pre-think the idea of your artworks before receiving the artbook to save the time.

For example, I am the first one who draw in this artbook. After finishing my artwork, I send the artbook by post (register form), or bring it in person to the next artist. Suppose that’s =Clap-san. He will send the artbook to the next one after finishing drawing. The rotation will occur till there’s no one left.

Please notice that, the person you send the artbook to, must stand NEXT TO you in the registration list. (I'll give you the list when I've received all your replies).

Me, nini_mimi_cat, responsible for guiding you how to send the artbook and the address of next one.

Each of you are allowed to keep the art book at most 10 days so that other people can have the chance to take part in this work. Consequently, you should choose the most appropriate time. Please consider your exams and other things that may take your time.
So as to save the money on sending the art book by post, the participants who live in the same city will be placed consecutivelyin the list, so you can send the artbook in person. According to this year’s plan, the artbook will stay in Hanoi in July, and then will be brought to HCMC in August. The Southern friends will send it to ones living in the Middle part of Vietnam, and then Northern again. We’ll give the priority to the overseas students.

You are not allowed to draw Digital artworks, please Traditional artworks only. You can use any drawing tools you want (pencils, ink, ball-point pens, comic pens), artworks can be colored or not.

You have to undertake these below rules when receiving the artbook:

Keep the artbook carefully and do not lose it.
Don’t draw or write anything in others’ pages.
Finish and send the artbook to the next in time.
Don’t keep any pages of the artbook as yours.
Leave me the message immediately when you receive and send the artbook.

Your art in this artbook:

Must be placed in the right page (as you register)
If possible, you should scan or take photos of your artworks and then upload it to your online gallery, especially on DeviantART.
Send me the artworks’ online links so that your work can be added into list showing to everyone.

Your artworks must follow the theme, and there must be no content of hentai, sexy, political or religion critics. You have to respect VNComicFarm’s and your online gallery site’s rule (DeviantART, Zidean, Minikyoto,...), respect the copyright rules and the laws of Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

You can do these in your pages:

Draw (sure ^^)
Sign your real name.
Indicate your nickname to let others know who are you.
Show us the link of your online gallery.
The date and place you draw.
Write some words you want to share with other friends taking part in this journey like you. It’ll be meaningful.
Everything above is up to you.

The artbook:

Size: A5. 8x6 inches.
Thickness: 120g/m2 (About 1/2 of Galgo paper 300gsm. You can use the comic pens, but shouldn’t draw with much power )
White paper.
Quantities: 60 sheets ~ 120 pages.
Appearance:

When send the artbook by post (register form), you should indicate the value of it as 100-200k VND. We all know the fact that it can’t be transferable for cash.

All the information about the artbook’s journal will be updated in VNComicFarm and my Journal on DeviantART.

IV. Join
All the artists who receive the invitation and want to join this project have to reply so that I can keep in touch with you easily. I will not send the artbook to the ones who haven’t registered because I don’t know your address. If there is any unexpected change after your registration, please note me immediately.

V. Our purpose
The artbook will be kept by VNComicFarm. However, It is not our own asset, it will be used as a grand prize for the winner of the big contest in TTVO or VNCF.

Especially, this artbook will be the spiritual gift representing the whole Vietnamese comic community in the volunteer programme for Vietnamese or international children (The Volunteer Programme of United Nations). I’ll ask your advice before deciding, and leave full credits of who took part in this projects.
