How to Commission an Artist

*ArynChris:iconArynChris: reports, November 16
A comprehensive guide to commissioning, based on my personal experiences and observations. This guide does not address hosting contests, nor does it specifically address the unique challenges of commissioning through specific websites, though some typical scenarios are mentioned in passing. Topics include choosing the artist, why it's important to make sure you can afford it, how to contact the artist, payment, what WIPs are and why you might want to see them, and legal rights of both parties. Legal rights are discussed at the beginner level and are NOT in depth here.

"Thanx Mr. Rorschach"

=dwk61:icondwk61: reports, July 10
I have chosen the following images to go along with a very special piece of music. All of the images can be interpreted in many ways, however for me I would like to highlight the suggested rather than the obvious in the artwork.

"The Music"

This music is by the legendary Serbian Rex Illusivii (Suba) and is a section taken from the track "Thanx Mr. Rorschach" a wonderful track which creates 10 ambients of French composer Erik Satie's music. The
track is found on the extremely rare 1987 album "Disillusioned" which only had 500 copies made. I managed to track down the album myself, however I can only upload the track piece by piece on my goear account as the full track is about 25 minutes long. The piano player is Macedonian Branka Parlic who is a famed interpreter of music by Satie, Glass, Nyman and a very long etc. It is my pleasure to introduce you to this music [link] I hope you like it.

Satie has influenced all the "ambient piano guys" from Eno to Nyman, even experimental musicians like Akira Rabelais have worked on re-interpretations from the "Gymnopaedias"

The pics are very well choosen, since they work well together too, this is a quality feature for the Deviant community as for the artists because of the exposure to new viewers, when you featured one of the works I made I never had so many viewers before (also thanks for that)

Now I´m waiting for the "Summer daydream mode collection", with music from Ibiza´s Cafe del mar...
