Show Them You Love Them Contest!

The Show Them You Love Them contest is to benefit and raise awareness for the abused and unwanted animals you find in shelters worldwide. We are trying to help show the DA community the love that we pet owners have for our animals, or to show the pain and desolation of those lonely few who roam the streets without love and affection. This contest is open to everyone, whether you have an animal or not, and has two divisions: Amateur and Professional. The Grand Prize is a 2 year subscription, free print, 3 news articles and 31 journal features!

This contest has received a fantastic amount of acclaim and has been sponsored by multiple clubs within the DA community! Please love this article if you support this contest and help spread the word by advertising in your journal! WWW: Imagine a New World Photography Contest (EU only)

:flageu: 2009 is the European Year of Creativity and Innovation :flageu:

To celebrate this, the European Commission has announced the competition "Imagine a New World". See the link for more info. The gist is as follows:

  • Open to photography only (however some manipulation is allowed, read specific rules on the website!).

  • Film or digital photo allowed, but only online digital submission.

  • Contest closes on August 31, 2009.

  • Submission in JPG or TIF format, two diff. dimensions of each image — read the specific rules!

  • Only your own work and a signed consent form needed for any persons depicted.

  • You agree to give the EU Commission the right to use the winning images for informational and promotional purposes.

  • The competition is open to residents of the European Union member states, EU Candidate countries and the EEA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.


Prizes!

The prizes will be awarded in two categories:

Jury selection prizes


#1: The first prize is a camera or photographic equipment of a value not exceeding €5,000 and a trip to Stockholm to the closing ceremony of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.


#2: The second prize is a camera or photographic equipment of a value not exceeding €2,000 and a trip to Stockholm to the closing ceremony of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.


#3: The third prize is a camera or photographic equipment of a value not exceeding €1,000 and a trip to Stockholm to the closing ceremony of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.


People's choice prizes
The winner of the “ People’s Favourite Award ” will receive a camera or photographic equipment of a value not exceeding €2,000 and a trip to Stockholm to the closing ceremony of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.
