Welcome to the Second issue, the July 2009 Issue. Again, i'd like to introduce you to eight deviants who are very talented, but relatively unknown. You'll get to learn a few tidbits about them, as well as view some of their amazing work! It's important, afterall - the latest information is that deviantART has over 1.5 million members, and that's a whole lot of deviants! So how does one get exposure? Well word of mouth, getting featured in journals, picked for a DD, or recommended... These ways and more. This is my way of helping people get some attention. You the reader could be among those who need a little attention. Or you just might love the artists you'll meet in this article. Expect it at on a monthly basis, and be prepared to totally have your minds blown!
=========================================================
The Questions I asked each artist:
1. How long have you been doing your thing, making art?
2. What is your favorite piece in your gallery?
3. What would you like to do with your talents?
4. Which piece in your gallery is most popular, and how do you feel about that?
5. If you had to critique yourself as an artist, what would you say you'd like to improve on most?
=========================================================

1. I've been drawing since I was a kid, drawing constantly but never taking it remotely seriously until high school. An upperclassman friend of mine taught me my first bit of human anatomy, and helped me step up my skills. I took a break for almost 6 years, where I was working jobs and goofing off, and let my art skills decline. I've only seriously taken it up again in the last year, actively striving to improve my skills to a professional level.
2. While nothing in my gallery really shows what I'm capable of, my favorite of the lot is likely,
13 Swords-Ruined. It was one of my first real attempts to expand past comic and line art and get into painting. While the colors are minimal and the art is simple, I find it a great reminder that I am still able to develop as an artist, even after years of inactivity.
3. I've always wanted to be a comic book artist. As a teenager I followed the major domestic comics - X Men, Spawn, Batman, etc. After high school I discovered Manga and the ways it differed from American comics enticed me. Since then I've aspired to still draw comics, but have taken more inspiration from Japanese Manga. In addition to comics, I have an interest in character and concept design, though my first desire will always be to tell my stories through art.
4.
A Challenge Appears. This was a reference sheet compilation for a Pokemon themed battling tournament, and my first real venture into the word of Flash. It took a lot of effort to develop, making all the original artwork and teaching myself flash from scratch. Considering the effort I put into this piece, I'm glad people appreciate the final product.
5. Good lord, where to begin. Like a lot of artists, I'm kind of lazy and a procrastinator. More than anything else, like talent or technique, I'd like to develop a better work habit. I've found over the years that talent doesn't equal success; professional artists are those people willing to put the time into study and developing their skills, and those who are consistently able to meet deadlines and put out work on a regular basis.

I've loved chatting with Benjamin and seeing what he posts. Incredibly talented and yet severely overlooked definitely applies to him.

=========================================================

1. Since I was four, I've always done outstanding on art works at school, though I never drew if it wasn't homework. It was around two and half years ago, when I decided to start it as hobby and ended up lovin' it. XD
2. Hmmm, that one is hard. I'd either say
homeworld owo or
Umisho Pool.
(though if I could I'd say a couple more.)3. Oh well, I'd like to live from it! (lol), though; everybody knows it isn't easy, I shall try my best! xD
4. Well, "
Naomi" is the one with most comments and favs, and actually I also like this one a lot, though the "character expression meme 83" got the most views, and oh well, its not really awesome, but oh well.
5. I'd like to improve some anatomy stuff, and my line art skills mostly, though I basically need overall improvement.

This artist is a relatively new discovery of mine, and a candidate for participation in my Brainchild Concepts project.

=========================================================

1. I've been drawing on the walls since 3 years old with a little evolution in my artwork here and there

2. Probably the
Camilla Cover. Right now I am all about my new Manga, Camilla xD
3. I would like to create visual imagery and a story people can relate to or escape to.
4. The
Second Tsunade piece seems to be the most popular. It goes to show that Narutards rule DA.
(Oh, I'm a "Narutard" too btw
)5. I'd like to learn more about painting and color theory, I have never really had an opportunity to sit down and learn this due to obstacles in life but I think now is a great time. Any mentors would be more than welcome

What ya gonna do, when *
jangmarley runs wild over you? With amazing muscled characters, this deviant flexes firmly! Did I mention sex appeal?

1. Since I can remember.. I grew up with a bucket of crayons and tons of scrap paper.
2. I'm not sure really lol, I guess my Hugh Jackman piece I made in High school.
3. Open my own studio one day and create animations and comics that make people happy
(you know.. as opposed to making them angry).
4. I have no idea. lol I enjoy it when any of my artwork is liked, some of them that get comments and favs do surprise me though.
5. EVERYTHING! Ha, I'm always striving to be better. Lately I've been working on creating my own distinctive style.. I'd say I need more improvement on that as well

4.
Tein, strange as I know that it is unfinished and has bad perspective, and numerous others issues, strange.

1. Since I was like about 10 or 11, of course back then it was garbage and chicken scratch stuff.
2. The original
Native Sun Concept concept, it was the first picture I had drawn in years since I had stopped at an earlier age...
3. I would like to produce my own comic characters, in terms of writing, drawing, and coloring them my self, see in my opinion I'm a better writer then I am colorist/artist and I have sooo many characters I can't picture anyone doing them properly aside from my self.
4. Honestly I have no clue which is most popular, I mean I've seen the
Super Girl faved a lot.
5. I'd say my lines. I really wanna become a better sketch artist so I can properly convey my ideas to paper.

Devious Comments
I'd like to do one for Designs & Interfaces including CSS & Scripts... But most of the people i've run across in those categories - don't meet the criteria for this article...
Wow some awesome artists, I'm gonna enjoy looking through them.
Btw I'm a girl xD

Every year, millions of people worldwide have no signature. You can help these people by making a donation to the =Vynnx Association for the Signature Impaired.
But YES, I agree... Awesome artists that do NOT get enough exposure, that's part of the reason for this project, and my most important goal, to get people some recognition and positive reinforcement.
Thank YOU for your support of the project man!
