Is there ever a time when we stop thinking? Well maybe it's only me and I just think constantly, but I'm sure most of you think often about life, about that guy or girl you saw today, your kids, about your plans for today, about love, pain, war, whatever! And I bet you just stopped to think, and probably wonder what you'll think right now, tehee
Anyway, since I just made you think and worked your brain, don't you think it would be awesome to express your ideas into real tangible images to create conceptual works of art?
I know some of you already are conceptual artists, but I also know that some of you expressed that you'd like to try conceptual art.
So here is your shot, I have created a club, called =
cOnceptualise and for some reason I have no idea why I made the o like O, it bugs me, but maybe that's a good thing, if it bugs people, it'll catch attention, anyway I'm blabbering...
The whole point of the club is to create challenges for you (club members) to participate in every two weeks.
Bi-weekly challenge
Every two weeks (^
FaMz with the help of *
meppol) will be posting two words, they may increase to three words if I feel like adding three words but the aim is to give you two words to work from, and you are free to use one additional element (object/subject) to link the concept together or aid in the concept of the piece, but they all must work together to create an effective conceptual image.
How to go about it
I think a problem for some of you when you want to start a concept, is that you wonder how on earth does one start up with an idea in the first place? right? so there you are, you are given two words every two weeks as a foundation to work from.
The link between the words may also be tough, since thinking about something and expressing it isn't easy, the thought and the expression needs to work together, but you can add your own additional object/subject to the piece to link the two.
An article to help with conceptualising -
How to develop conceptsYou can draw ideas to develop the concept based on whatever you want (metaphorically, abstractly, symbolically, literally. etc), it's up to you to interpret the words, that's why I give no definitions. You define it based on your experience, based on life, based on a song, a movie, a person, whatever you decide, but the point is to draw the idea from somewhere and I'm sure you'll enjoy it and you'll be able to express your idea. As the weeks go on, if you continuously participate you'll improve.
You have a choice to submit a conceptual photo or a conceptual photomanipilation.
What I want from you is something original, different, and something that's unexpected, and I know you can do that!
Take a look at the rules here
Round 4 has started just today if you want to participate, watch the club and let me know that you'll be taking part.
The words are:
stereotype, truth + (one additional element)The entries for the previous rounds so far
Round 1 - letter, plaid, button
- Winning entry

Round 2 - blue, stencil, wings

Round 3 - the good, the bad, the ugly
Things the club is in need of

A nice avatar, I threw that one together in like 2 mins, you can do better than that!

A stamp

An iD

and more of you!
So far we have hardly had participants, and I believe it was due to having just three words to work from, so I altered the rules in hope to make it more fun and easy for you. I would love for more people to enter, I'd really appreciate it if you can pimp this article and the club

Looking forward to seeing you guys there!
