Hello everyone, & welcome to yet another edition of Mini-DDs! Where DD-worthy Deviations are king, features & praise are the queen, the snack foods that fuel of this are the jack, &...Well, i forgot where I was going with this. Just enjoy the kickass artwork, okay?
But before we get into the meat of our presentation, let's begin with a couple of appetizers: First off, we have a plug for the fundraiser that =
Masterthecreater is having. I know it doesn't sound entirely relevant to everything else here, but he happened to call me "one of the most well known people when it comes to advertising artists as I've seen", & what can I say? My extreme love of flattery always tends to crush my sanity.
Seriously though, this is your chance to get a commission from a multiple Golden Fefcaine Award-winning artist (not to mention the guy who does the title cards for
Atop The 4th Wall), so we here at the Mini-DDs heartily endorse him! So go check out all the info
here & see if you can score a commission...You certainly won't regret it!
Also, much like our special ode to *
jollyjack from
a few months back, we've decided to do another little special feature here to a kickass artist with a kickass collection of work...& this time, we're focusing on
=Buuya. Now, Buuya is to stranger to Mini-DDs, having been featured here before in the past. But sadly, we did not focus on her most inspired work then...Namely, her
Lost fan art.
And let me tell you, Buuya is hands down the best damn
Lost fan artist on this whole site. Granted, I know that sounds like hyperbole, but I have yet to see anyone top her. Whether it be in the form of a well-crafted & hilarious comic or just one awesome portrait capturing one of the show's best moment, she just has a knack for always doing that classic show justice.
And in June, Buuya took on a grand project: For every day in June, she would draw a full-color picture of one of the show's characters. Needless to say, she excelled at it, as seen with this small sampling here:

...And the whole buffet of Buuya's
Lost awesomeness? You can check that out in her
Lost collection. And for all of her devotion & kickassery, Buuya truly deserves this:

...My special & prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork, given out only on special occasions. Plus, this one has a delicious
white chocolate center! Plus we throw some cookie & pretzel bits into the mix because we felt like a bit of classic flavor!
So congrats, Buuya! Here's hoping Season 6 brings more classics!
Alright, so the appetizers are done for...Now how about the main course? Still hungry? Good! Let's get going, then...
Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:

...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a delicious milk chocolate center! And some banana cream & little biscuit bits thrown into the mix this week as well, if only because it worked for that Pocky I just had!
Oh, & feel free to check out the Mini-DD Archive afterwards right here:
[link]Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...

I must admit that I'm not much of a Beatles fan...But I am a huge fan of kickass original characters & eye-popping Deviations, &
goo goo ga joob by =
Azurice definitely delivers in both those areas! Cute & unique designs, a fun, wild, & offbeat style, a perfect use of psychedelic colors, & several glorious details down to each pigeon's odd expression...It all just makes for one wonderfully quirky, joyous, & all-around lovable cartoon that you just simply have to check out (even if you're not a fan of Beatles music
or pigeons)!

I've seen the seven deadly sins represented in various forms here on DA countless times, & yet
SLOTH by ~
bjornik still manages to wow me in pretty much every conceivable way! Excellent characters with a unique & clever story, a lovely mix of macabre & humorous elements, a perfect use of a dark & bluish color scheme, & mountains of amazing detail all collide in one glorious crash of awesomeness to create one truly sinfully delicious delight! Bravo!

*
Drojan is an artist with a delightfully curvaceous, slick, wild & crazy style...Thus allowing him to perfectly pay tribute to a unique & amazing character such as
A Nightmare Named Insomnia! Everything here is just so perfectly hypnotic, surreal & cartoonish, from the intense swirliness of the pose & background to the killer use of bold & dark colors to all the delectable little touches with a touch of insanity in everything from the wide-eyed expression to each small spike & fingertip. Truly one stellar piece of work that easily deserves all the praise it can get!

~
sumeco's works are always a richly surreal & odd delight to behold, & unsurprisingly,
Prime is no exception! Feeling like some sort of beautifully inverted & mesmerizing gem (love the use of white outlines), a clever & well-crafted concept is mixed in with a large assortment of delightfully eerie & out there elements & a glorious blend of dark & bright colors to create a truly trippy gem that would feel perfectly at home in a place like
The Outer Limits. It's a freakish & stunning masterpiece you can't afford to miss.

This Shiro guy has certainly been popping up a lot around here at DA...But I sure as hell won't complain, especially when he makes for such amazing Deviations like *
carnival's
COM- Temptatious Lullaby! Carny's signature detail-packed traditional style never disappoints, & when blended in with some excellent designs, some great anatomy, luscious coloring, a perfectly serene yet ferocious atmosphere...Well, you get where I'm going with this. Bottom line, this is one stellar piece of anthro artwork that you'd be foolish to miss out on!

I don't know what ~
warpig31 was on when he dreamed up something as crazy as
It's Just a Bad Dream, but whatever it is, pass some of it over to me as well! This gloriously twisted delight is a grand mixture of everything I like in a psychedelic vector gem: A bold, eye-popping & cartoonish style, a grand assortment of freakish, fun, & clever little designs, some intense coloring with a nice variety, & an all-around deliciously trippy, humorous, & perfectly almost nonsensical mood, to name a few things. The title may say "bad" dream, but this is quite the irresistible slice of crazed bliss in my book!
Rainy Robot by ~
rawlsy...Well, words fail me here, people. This piece of work is just so amazing that I don't really know what to say about ot...Except that it has a wonderful comic style, a perfectly gritty atmosphere with a little bit of black humor, some standout imagery & a great use of empty space, a kickass robot design, a grand amount of detail in everything from the lit-up urban neon signs to smallest raindrop, etc., etc. You know, just that kind of stuff is all I have to say. That & a true gem like this is not to missed, of course.

~
EpidemicXero designed
M.O.T.M.--Mr. Sun to honor one amazing OC, & she did so with quite the lovely piece of work! The perfectly dusk-lit setting, the stellar coloring, the attractive style with some nice textures & cool little touches, the excellent angle, pose, & expression that really help give this guy even more of a badass feeling...All those elements combine to create one simple yet intense & lovable Deviation that definitely showcases one excellent up-&-comer! Keep 'em coming!

According to *
frogbillgo,
The Shield was just a random creation that happened to pop into his head one day...And he went & turned it into quite the dazzling cartoon gem! Between the kickass & unique character design, the slick style packed with mounds of delectable comic book action, the intense & stunning coloring, & every little amazing detail from the killer pose to the various weaponry to each tiny tattoo, everything here makes for one insanely creative & badass drawing that deserves all the praise in can get! And to think it all began with one random idea...
...Well, that's all for this week! If you have any comments, suggestions, etc., they'd be greatly appreciated! I hope you've all liked what I've featured this week, & I'll be back next week with nine more DD-worthy works of art! Sayanora until then! ^_^

Do you know about *DailyDeviants?
and Have you heard about my Artists Challenge? It's Your Last Night On Earth...
And yeah, I actually started this thanks to the advice of a GM I was suggesting DDs to...He said if I wanted to see more of them get featured, then maybe I should try doing my own features (or words to that effect). And thus I decided to whip up my own DDs! ^_^
But I heartily stress that you don't stop suggesting DDs as well. They are very important, & our GMs do love setting any suggestions!
Also, DailyDeviants...Been meaning to contribute to that for quite some time now...
