Hello everyone! Well I've decided my next contest will be
The 5 Themes Contest! The separate themes being-


Pirates, Mermaids, Fairies, Kittens(or cats), and Candy


Please read all these rules before joining and if you still have questions, leave a comment.

What can I enter?
You may enter artwork in the medium of your choice (with the exception of literature) and in the style of your choice. i.e. All traditional and digital drawings/paintings, photography, sculpture, designs, illustrations, photo manips etc. in any style. You can take the themes in whatever direction you want…feel free to be as creative as you desire.
Please note though that all entries must be new!!! Meaning, uploaded to deviantart on or after July 24th 2009.
(Mature Content works will not be accepted.)

Just a few examples of what you can do:
(You are in no way limited to these suggestions, though you may use them if you wish. )

Pirates- Take a photo of someone dressed up as a pirate/ Draw POTC fan art/ Paint a pirate ship/ Illustrate a pirate cartoon character…

Mermaids- Take a photo of mermaid inspired make up you did/ Manipulate a photo into a mermaid or merman/ Paint a mermaid in the water/ Draw a portrait of a mermaid’s face…

Fairies- Draw a fairy on a flower/ Take a photo of someone as a fairy/ Sculpt a fairy/ Draw a fairy character…

Kittens-Take a picture of a big cat at the zoo/ Take a photo of a person dressed up as a cat/ Draw a picture of a kitten or cat/ Take a photo of a kitten or cat…

Candy- Take a photo of candy/ Draw a picture of someone eating candy/ Design something with candy inspired colors…

The possibilities are endless Those are just a few ideas if you need help getting started.




How many times may I enter the contest?
You may make up to 5 entries for the contest. You are only allowed to enter each theme one time though.



Can I combine 2 or more themes?
You may combine themes if you so wish. These are meant to be separate themes, but if you’d like to combine, then go ahead. Your entry will only count for one theme though, so you will need to decide which theme you would want to enter it in.



How do I submit my entry?
Please put : icongabbyd70 : (without the spaces) or a link to this news article in your "Artists Comments" and then note me or comment me on my page with a link to your work.

All these lovely volunteers and myself











When is the deadline?
The contest begins today- July 24th, 2009, and will run through October 24th 2009. So that gives you 3 whole months to work!! All entries must be uploaded to dA within this timeframe to be included in the contest.

Rather than having a contest with a 1st place, 2nd place, & 3rd place as I have done before, this time there will be 5 (as close to equal as possible) Grand Prizes….And they are:
