THEME

Imagine.

Before you go to sleep one night, you are allowed to make one wish about what you want the world to look like when you wake up the next morning; this 'world' can be your bedroom, whatever you see through your window, your house, the country you live in, the entire globe, or even the inside of your own head. It doesn't matter how you define it, or if the changes you make are changes in a physical or symbolic way. All that matters is that your wish will come true, just for one day. So you'd better give it some thought...

After you've made your wish, you close your eyes and drift away.
The next morning you wake up and open your eyes.

What do you see?

The goal of this contest is to visualise your personal answer to the question above. The possibilities are endless; just use your imagination and try to put something of yourself into it!
Maybe there's a special person lying next to you, or a long-lost loved one is watching you from the corner of your room with a smile on his or her face; perhaps you find yourself in a world where elves, centaurs, vampires, or werewolves exist, on a deserted island, in the middle of the ocean, or on a cloud in the sky, looking down on the world below you; your surroundings could be painted a different colour, you may have gone back in time or taken a step into the future, perhaps all wars have magically ended and everybody is now living in peace. You might be in a place you've always wanted to go to, or look like someone you've always wanted to look like. You could be surrounded by luxury, or living on an entirely different planet. ...

Like I said: there are no limits to what your answer might be!

JUDGING

There will be two categories: Visual and Literature.
Entries for each category will be judged separately, by different judges.
Per category, three winners will be chosen and one honorable mention will be made as well.

Just a note: since I don't have any experience with literature myself, I will only be judging the entries for their originality and creative content.

RULES

Visual category
All mediums are allowed (traditional art [pencil, paint, charcoal, pastels, ...], digital art, photography, etc.)
Your entry must be made for this contest (please don't submit old work that you've changed to make it fit the theme of the contest)
I may be stating the obvious by saying this, but your entry must be made by you (so no photo manipulations [unless it's your own picture] or anything the like - after all, it's your world, not someone else's!)
Of course you are allowed to use references
It would be nice if you would add an explanation about what your entry means, but you don’t have to tell anyone if it’s too personal and you want to keep the story behind your entry to yourself
You can submit up to two entries per person

Your entry must be made for this contest (please don't submit old work that you've changed to make it fit the theme of the contest)
You can submit up to two entries per person
