It has now been four months since this project began, and in total we have received over 150 submissions for the book. There has been a fantastic range of pieces and I am really proud of those from deviantArt who represented the quality of this website and put in their entries.

Although we have received an abundance of literature based entries, one thing we are lacking in is the visual artwork. Therefore we would like to open up an extended request for visual submissions to this project.


Criteria for Visual Submissions

we are looking for submissions that express Self harm and the connecting issues surrounding it. These don’t necessarily have to be about self harm, but expressions of feelings or encouraging a positive reaction. These could also be images of certain expressions or feelings, such has loneliness etc.

We also seek work that would complement the writings. This is entirely up to your own judgement. The writings have a mixed nature, and the criteria that was requested can be found in the original news article.

Finally, we’d like to see some positive images too, something cheerful, or perhaps even simple such as pictures of comfort (hugs, hands holding etc).

There is a strict rule that no images of direct Self harm or any images that may be of a triggering nature should be submitted. Please be respectful and consider this prior to submission.

Traditional Art and Photography is preferred, but if you do have something from another art form you would like to submit, we will welcome it.

No Fan Art please.

You may submit more than one image.
