Opera 6 for Mac OS 8.6 - 10.2 Unleashed

~amoralpsycho:iconamoralpsycho: reports, December 14, 2002
Opera Software ASA today released the final version of Opera 6 for Mac OS 8.6-10.2.2, offering Mac users a faster and better Internet experience. This is the first final Opera released for Mac OS X, and today's released version runs on Mac OS 8.6-10.2.2.

"With today's release we confirm our commitment to the Mac platform," says Mary Lambert, product line manager desktop, Opera Software ASA. "Mac is an important part of our cross-platform strategy, and we are working hard to ensure that Opera for Mac will become the default browser for Mac users."

Opera 6 for Mac includes major changes since Opera 5 for Mac, including faster rendering speed, improved font switching for international Web pages, some user interface fixes, a new autosave pages feature, and a shared library for developers. Developers can contact Opera to embed this library on Macintosh applications requiring a rendering engine. Opera 6 for Mac also includes local language support.

"In the future, Opera for Mac will be available in many languages," says Lambert. "We aim to provide a faster, smaller, more standards-compliant, and secure browser for Mac users worldwide."

I've always been a believer in Opera, 6 rather than 7, but anyway...

Hopefully this version is better than the Opera for Linux ;) (Wink)
