I am aware that there are similar articles out there, but this is my own spin on things.

These steps have helped gain more attention for my art. I hope they can do the same for you.
Please note, however, that this is not about pageviews! Pageviews count only a little toward the amount of attention your art receives. I would not recommend trying to obsessively increase your pageview number; doing so would just turn some people away from your art.
If you want to increase the number a little, set a kiriban (a numerical goal you'd like to reach, i.e. 10,000), and offer a prize (art request, feature, etc) to the artist who snags a screenshot of it.
If you'd like, you can even choose not to see pageview numbers (including your own). Some people prefer to do this. Just go to your
Browsing Settings and uncheck the "See Pageviews" box.
Tip #1: Fave and comment oftenBrowse the
Newest page of the site a few times a day and pick several deviations to comment on or add to your favorites. However, do not fave everything you see! Only add what you truly enjoy.

If the image really touches you, you can leave a heartfelt comment. If the artist requests critiques/constructive criticism and you see something that needs improving, make sure you tell them. When leaving a critique, though, make sure you mention the good things about the piece as well, in order to give it more balance. The artist will appreciate it and may do the same for you.
Tip #2: Make use of the forumsFor those who are unaware, there is a
Thumbshare forum where you can post thumbnails of your art. That particular forum gets a lot of traffic everyday; it's a good place to meet artists who enjoy the same type of art you do. There are rules for the forum however:

Do not ask for comments/faves/watches - artists will do either one on their own if they wish

Do not promise Daily Deviation suggestions; however, if you do see something that is really deserving of the honor, feel free to suggest it to the correct gallery moderator!
FAQ #18: Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen?
No conditional posts are allowed ("post my pageview number and I will comment on your art")
Don't know where your thumbnail code is? It's right underneath all the stats (views, comments, faves) for your deviation in the lower right hand corner of the Artist's comments box.
There are other forums as well. Feel free to explore different ones to meet other people. Here are a few:
Welcome Center - a place to welcome new deviants
Art Scene - where you can ask questions about any problem you may have with the media you use (paint types, which brands are better, etc)
Deviants - a place to chat about random topics
Just remember to read the rules for each forum so the @MN don't lock your threads.
Tip #3: Be an active participant in the communityContestsThere are always contests going on around deviantART everyday. Find something that suits your interests and abilities and take part! You can find them in the
Contest news section, or in the
Project forum.
Don't forget that you can also come up with your own. Get together with your friends and put one together.
FeaturesFeature artists who you think deserve more art appreciation. Doing so may result in others doing the same for you.
You could feature an artist in your journal if you have a premium membership. If you do not, you can post a news article. You don't need a premium membership to post thumbs in a news feature.
ClubsThere are a trillion different clubs here on dA. Whether you enjoy photography, painting, or Mudkips, you will find something. Clubs will submit your work for other members to see, and some hold contests and challenges that offer prizes.
A good place to look for a club that suits you is ~
TheList. It's a directory of most of the clubs on deviantART. Just browse for something that catches your interest.
ProjectsYou can create your own project that will benefit the community, or just take part in one. Projects bring people, art, or both together. They help the community stick together.
Also, make sure you submit art often - don't let all your files collect dust on your computer. Posting more art will just bring it more attention. Try different types of art as well. You may find something else you're good at.
I hope these tips benefit you, even in the slightest way. I wish you the best of luck.

Due to the many comments/messages received, gallery comments/faves will take the place of actual thank you comments. Please note I appreciate all the support and motivation I receive.
