Down with Clichés Contest!

=bekkia:iconbekkia: reports, September 20
Tired of reading the same tired poem rehashed so much you could fry hashbrowns out of it? Has an idea been tickling your medial prefrontal cortex for weeks? Well now it's time to let it out! Get out that verbal sludge hammer, and let's take these clichés down!

What Can I Write About?
Anything! Your first love, a clean pair of socks, the Panama Canal, George Washington, life as a caveman, your Uncle Bob, or your pet cactus Francis. Whatever your lovely heart desires, just make sure it's original!

Judges
:bulletpurple: Myself, =bekkia
:bulletpurple: ~Amoxcalli
:bulletpurple: *losingmyfaith

Rules!
Your entry must:
:bulletblue: Be original and contain no clichés or trite phrases.
:bulletblue: Be your own work. Collaborations are not allowed. Art theft will not be tolerated.
:bulletblue: Be no longer than 100 lines.
:bulletblue: Be in the poetry category.
:bulletblue: Have a link to either this news article or the official journal [link] in the description.
:bulletblue: Have correct spelling and grammar, this includes capitalization, unless for a legitimate artistic purpose. When in doubt, ask. Minor lapses may be overlooked.
:bulletblue: Be submitted after the starting date of the contest, September 20th, and before the end date, November 15th.
:bulletblue: Likewise, be submitted via note to me, =bekkia, no later than 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard time on November 15th, 2009.

Entries that do not meet this criteria will be defenestrated post haste.

A complete list of entries may be viewed here: [link]

oook?

After four million years;
Of chimpanzee's tears.
There are no days
Without cliches.

A cliche?
A monkeys toy.
Grab a banana,
Relax and enjoy.
