~Art is the freedom of self-expression

This is news on how the members and premium members of DeviantART have been feeling lately about DeviantART.

I'm not sure if DeviantART realizes how awful some deviants feel and in result many deviants are leaving DeviantART because they either feel harassed, hated, flamed, not safe etc.....

I hope my opinion has not been hurtful in this news but I am expressing myself and expressing how other deviant members feel to the DeviantART community. I feel DeviantART needs a wake-up call to what it really means to be a deviant.

DeviantART is suppose to support all their deviant members yet a plethora of deviants have been succumbed to feeling their work shouldn't even be submitted on DeviantART because it will be hated.

Art can be absolutely anything and it is made by the artists and for the artists. Not for the haters.

I've been talking to some people about this outside of DeviantART....

Why is it called DeviantART?

~Deviant means: a person whose behavior deviates from what is acceptable especially in sexual behavior yet DeviantART is pro-reporting all the devious people on DeviantART who do that....

If a deviant simply doesn't appreciate another deviant's work then they should move on instead of commenting something very loathesome...as simple as that.

Isn't DeviantART suppose to support devious works?

~It use to in 2000 when it was just starting as a website; but now it seems to be full of prejudice deviants and even prejudice staff members.

So may I ask...why is the staff DeviantART being so ridiculously close-minded and unprofessional lately if the point of being deviant is to be perverted or abnormal?

~I honestly have no idea why...people who review art are suppose to look at all view points and not be close-minded.

If you work has been reported, and they delete it, and they claim they have reviewed the deviation then why are deviations such as OCs or stamps deleted etc?

~That is unprofessional to say you have reviewed the work when the report was clearly a matter of stupid misunderstanding. I understand if it is child pornography or animal/human abuse or racism/prejudice but....otherwise DeviantART should support all the other matters of self-expression. That is what being deviant means.

As for art that has been reviewed and removed when it is clearly stated in the fanart or fanfiction that it is the character's 20th birthday...then how is that under the category of under-aged. When something is reviewed, it is suppose to be read thoroughly and thought about on different view points.

For a lot of what DeviantART removes (modules that have links to other accounts or journals) they don't give an explanation why they remove it...and most of the time the faqs aren't in relation to why the staff has removed the item.

When the staff of DeviantART reviews something that was mature content and had a mature content label on it....why do they remove it?

~People have gone to faqs...honestly the only mature stuff DeviantART even accepts anymore seems to be ARTISTIC NUDES ....why are there even options for violence/gore or sexual themes or anything else if DeviantART is just going to end up deleting the work....?

There is a reason people under 18 shouldn't view most of the mature content work on DeviantART, because clearly it is mature. If a fanfiction contains nudity and is marked to the highest level of mature content and is deleted...then why is artistic nude revealing female/male genitalia not deleted?

Mature content means mature content! Work which is removed for pornographic content means it is removed because it is: of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire..... Most fanart or fanfiction writers have been targeted for this matter. Stop being close-minded to what is love and what is porn. When two characters engage in sexual activities for love...that is not pornographic content.

As for people who are suspended and banned, most of them don't deserve to be and are just being cyber-ly attacked because of DeviantART haters. The real people who should be banned are the anti-clubs...really the only anti clubs that shouldn't be reported are anti-prejudice clubs...all the other clubs are HATE CLUBS.

DeviantART is about supporting all kinds of art and not hating the not favoured works...
