I whole heartedly agree with what they did. I cant imagine how much it costs to keep DA running. Yall did it the right way tho with all sorts of benefits and such. I dont think they are attacking it the right way....though the costs are quite reasonable.

I hope they can pull through it tho. Its tough when you get too big for your own britches

I'd suggest to the GFXartist team to offer more incentives for people to subscribe. In this world asking people to do things out of the goodness of their heart or to support a community site isn't going to have much effect. I'm sure there are plenty of ideas that could be constructed.

I'm unsure what scheme you applied earlier (where you only got 4 responses), was it calendars? Anyhow, forcing people to subscribe might work but when it goes public again they might want some more incentives. Ie. If I donated money and was able to access the site now (a definite incentive), what would be my incentive as a visitor to stay subscribed once the site is available to everyone again? I don't have my art on the site so hosting my images wouldn't really do it for me. What else could you offer?

Perhaps they don't realize that US$2 for some ppl is like $6 or even $24 bucks..
And yeah, let's not forget that in some places dollar can go from $3 to $5 in a couple hours..
It'd also be cool if they gave away something more than just a calendar to suscribers..
