About the first issue :
It took us 3 weeks to do the first issue of Visual Arts Illustrated – which is half the time with less manpower as we had before. This being said – there will be smaller mistakes in both text and layout, no doubt. We are aware of this and as we will have more time for the next issue this will be taking care of. This time we simply wanted you to get the magazine as fast as possible as we all waited way too long anyways

We hope you like this new experience – a webzine instead of a printed magazine. We looked into offering a printed version, too, but with international distribution and print we would face many problems, including almost insane costs and the problem that the magazine wouldn't be available in all cities, and even with then with a delay of sometimes several weeks. The webzine gives all interested readers the chance to get the magazine at the same time. The quality is better, and it offers more for less money. As you know the first issue is for free, we will announce the price for single issues and a subscription soon. It will be way less than a printed magazine.
Some words to the webzine technology:
You will get a virtual magazine. It looks like a real magazine and it sounds real when you flip the pages. Being a digital format you can now simply click on website addresses and email-addresses to go to the respective site or send an email. You can also zoom into images to see more detail, and we have included video clips.
A note about the video-clips:
We will change the way we integrated the video clips. Right now they are a window that sits on top of the actual page. From the next issue on it will be part of the layout!!!
As this is our introductory issue we would ask you to spread the word. For this we included a “share” button which enables you to send the info to all your friends.
More information about pricing ... coming soon! So stay tuned!
We hope you will enjoy this new magazine. Please let us know what you think!
