Filmmakers must use one of the winning scripts from the literature part of this contest. You will be able to ask the original writers questions to help them.

No film should last over 7 minutes.

MUSIC COPYRIGHT- Music must be of the following: originally created; royalty-free; purchased license to use; or used under a Creative Commons license given by the creator of the music. "Free Download" does not mean the same thing as "Royalty Free". CDs or tracks you have purchased and "take" from your own music library is not "Royalty Free". Singing or playing copyrighted songs, if you have not bought a license to use the sheet music or vocalize it, is not "Royalty Free". If your film violates copyright law, your film will be disqualified and removed.

Entries need to be submitted to: Contests> 2009> From Scripts to Flicks> Film or Animation. Please also clarify in the author comments that this is for the From Scripts to Flicks contest.

The deadline for submissions is
Sunday 15th November. Any late submissions will not be considered.
Winners and JudgingWe will be selecting
4 winners in total, two from film and two from animation. There will also be one grand prize winner.
The film entries will be shortlisted by the film team. The grand prize winner will then be selected from this shortlist with the assistance of the literature team.
General judging for film will include quality of directing, adaptation, and composition.
The judging will be on how well the forms merge--how the writing is adapted to film, and how the film has interpreted the writing. Submissions will also be judged on originality and pizzazz.

To round up this contest, we will be arranging a special screening night and review night in the film chat room. Everyone is welcome, with guests consisting of the prize winners in literature and film, judges and other leading members of the community. The films will then be presented and reviewed live in the chat room, by anyone wishing to participate. There will also be links to the original script for people to view. Keep an eye out for future news articles about this and of course our winning entries!
