There is a level of bitterness seeping through
these stylish lines that so adequately express the sour
emotion invoked by these words. Still, beating
beneath that skin, there is a breathing heart and
a hopeful light buried at the core.

This visual piece my seem simple at first, but
upon further inspection, the message is so much
deeper than first expected. By handwriting the poem,
it adds a very personal touch to it, making it

by a very unusual narrative voice. It shows us the ultimate
omniscient narrator, whose voice is consistent and well
established throughout the piece. The author has very cleverly
created an odd coldness and distance between the reader and
the protagonists, making for an enthralling story.

It might be too early to read this, since it's still two
months away till Christmas, but it still deserves a read
anyway. This piece tackles a different side of Christmas,
highlighting the over-commercialisation of this festive
holiday by reversing stereotypes with clever descriptions
and use of language.
